biteing point on clutch

Yesterday was a sunny day decieded to go to work on the bike...

My biteing point on the clutch is just whens its at the closed postion (whens the free play kick in) as you release the clutch... is this normal... Even if I rev the bike it won't move untill its fully closed... I feel that there is more clutch to give beyond the close postion and hope that I'm not wearing the clutch out more.

Also when I pull the clutch in all the way to shit down from netural to 1st it does not go in I have to lift it up about half (from when its fully pressed in open) untill it goes in.

Does it just need adjusting...?

Aside from obvious mechanical needs, how you set your clutch is to your preference.

Personally, by the sounds of it, I would move it out a bit further. Mine is setup so that I dont have to pull the lever in far at all.

Mine is set "out" - I only have to squeeze it a little to disengage the clutch.
This doesn't mean I'm not getting full use out of it as it returns back to the same position - if the clutch plates were not contacting properly you would immediately notice the slipping effect as you applied power.
