Oil on bottom of the engine

Hi, ive just noticed a few black dots on the carpet in the garage and the underside of my engine is covered in thick black oil, but im unsure where its coming from. Bike 1992 Kawasaki KH 100 Ex G8!

It seems to be at its worst under where the exhaust meets the engine. could it be the seals that have gone somewhere ?

Hi

Most likely the exhaust port gasket isn't sealing properly. People often reuse them a few times.

How easy would it be for me to do myself ?

If not, how long/difficult would it be for my local mechanic to sort out ?

Also Is it ok to ride until the weekend ?

Hi

Cheap and easy enough to replace. Order a new gasket, take off the exhaust, remove the remains of the old exhaust gasket, put the new one in and put the exhaust back on (a time when an extra hand would be useful to hold the gasket in place while you position the exhaust).

And plenty of people would just ride it like that indefinatly, ignoring the slight oil leak.
