Got Flashed

OK so I had a really bad morning getting to work,
what with running out of petrol earlier than indicated,
the reserve switch falling off in my hand,
my card being declined after I'd pushed the bike 700 yards to fill up
and then my mums card being declined as well having given her details over the phone.

Needless to say I was less than happy at this point, especially looking at my watch and realising I'm 20 mins late for work and I still have another 15 - mins ahead.

My mum works for the same company so I asked her to tell my line manager so I wasn't too fussed about that.

But then the bike wouldn't start so I had to bump it out the garage and then opened up, full throttle.

I was fast approaching 50mph when I was about to fly past a GATSO, checked clocks for speed whilst hitting the brakes and looked in the mirror as I went through only to see no flash.

I don't know if I've been caught or not and I'm worried because I really can't afford the fine.

Has anything similar happened to anyone, and if so what was the outcome?

they don't always work so you might be lucky

then again they don't always flash as some are infa red! it was one that isnt working,you'll find out in 2weeks either way.

If you really want to put your mind at rest, take your number plate off, put on some of your Ann Summers gear and blast through it at silly speeds, see if it flashes.

If not, yer cool, if it does, who's to know? Just a cross dresser on a plateless bike.

If it was a big square gatso and it didn't flash then you're ok. If it was anything else, how fast were you going and what was the speed limit?

There is a fair bit of leeway.

1/2 to 2/3 of GATSOs don't have film in at any given point, and aren't even on. Driving round with a radar sensor demonstrates that.

So you either missed the flash or it was off.

If it's a gatso, they don't transfer back to the dvla instantly like the infra-red ones, correct me if i'm wrong.

Oh fuck if I get the fine, I get the fine, nothing I can do. Need to spend the money fixing my bike....maybe I'll just do some cost cutting, move back home and get shot of the mrs, that's give loads more dosh to splash on me pride an joy lol
