Err halfords?

Ooh hang on, no docs, I know

Trago mills sell seperate decal numberplates and letters, theres one between plymouth and Newton Abbot, and one on the A38 in the other direction, if you can get a lift to either then buy the numbers you need and hopefully they'll have a reflective backing in bike size, if not then I think a car size is legal anyway, then get arts and craftsy and glue it all together.

Cornish motorcycle spares in Mutley,

If you go out to the main street you can cross the main road and there is this tiny bike shop on a corner they'll do them too or used to...

steal someone elses.
or just write it on a bit of MDF with a smiley face on the corner, then sign it with your signature...

that makes it legal.
especially the smiley face.

I was out for a weekend on the bikes a couple of years ago down near Bidford, one of the group on an R1 lost his rear plate along the way. While out in town we came across a beat bobby, explained the situation and he wrote out a ticket with his information on saying he gave him permission to ride the bike home.

Whether that'd stand up if he'd later been stopped by a traffic copper I don't know, but it showed he knew he'd lost it and made some effort to prove it was an accident.

I reckon Trago Mills is your best bet dude. Don't like Cornish, sold my mate a bike that wouldn't run right, took it back and he did some work on it and it still wouldn't go right, turned out to be a dodgy carb- but he'd claimed to have replaced that. Hmm, obviously not, or if he had it was with one that was no better.

Anyway, you could try them- they aren't that hard to find, and unlike Trago are in Plymouth.

Been to almost every bike shop in plymouth today, including cornish (wanted legal docs like everyone else).

Went to the breakers down on cattedown road and got a numberplate minus stick on letters, and have put my reg on with permanent marker, it will work until I get down to signs 4 u or something near some docks I got told about and get a plate there.

Got a mirror so I can spot cops aswell.

Cheers
John

Motor factors in town by the tool shop are a bunch of morons as well- probably worth a try though.

If you've got a 'plate now, ride down to Trago (just head South on the A38, you can't miss it) and pick up some stick- on numbers, it'll be better than writing it on...

Aye, I have a plate, just need 2 woodscrews and a screwdriver to fit it. Laughing

Previous method of holding the plate on disapeared with the old plate.

Cheers

Bollocks, Sorry I've only just seen this John, I work at Bridge Motorcycles in Exeter and probably could have made one up for you. Unfortunately I'm not working there untill Tuesday now. MIGHT be able to give it a shot tomorrow morning before I go kitesurfing though if you want? Not leaving my house till 11ish though...

Just spotted this...

I'm off out now, but try PM-ing Tristan, he's staying in this eve and might be able to sort you out- I'm not sure what's what here.

Your best bet is probably to just do a cable tie raid on poundland in the morning!
