Any other drummers on here?

This is kind of similar to that musician thread ages ago.. but this is only for us. Cool

I guess i can give some sort of bio on myself..

Started when i was 9 years old. First played Trumpet, guitar, bass and then moved onto drums, and it just clicked. Been playing ever since.

Im thought to be one of the best in my area from word of mouth/other bands etc.

Big headed? Only when it comes to drums. Laughing

So anyone else? Thumbs Up

Started playing since I was 15. Got into a professional-ish band when I was 19, but that only lasted a year, then we disbanded. Never went back to the music scene ever since then. Man, I miss those days.

Influences: Dave Weckl, Carter Beauford, Mike Portnoy, Manu Katche.

First picked up a pair of sticks aged 12 and had an utterly SHIT Maxtone kit to begin with and then saved up and bought myself a Yamaha Stage Custom standard. Evans hydraulics skins on all the toms and bass and Evans Genera G2 dry skin on the snare. Snares were 20 string Pearl jobbie I found on eBay for a fiver when back for one summer. I ended up with the best sounding snare I think I've EVER heard.

Started to focus on cymbals after that but not before I'd bought myself an Iron Cobra power glide double bass pedal, fucking hell that thing was IMMENSE. Loved it to pieces, I could drill like no one's business. Found out about a brand called Stagg cymbals, made EXACTLY the same way as Zildjian A series but about 1/3rd of the price. Had 13" hi hats, 8" and 10" splashes, 15" china, 16" and 18" crashes and 21" ride. Had Tama hardware holding it all up.

Unfortunately my kit was left in Dubai when I moved back last year so when I was back in Easter earlier this year my parents bullied me into selling it as it was only being played 4 weeks a year. Still plan to get back into it one day and build up the beauty of a kit I used to have. Played in several different bands out there but the music scene is SERIOUSLY limited so it's hard to get noticed if at all.

Meh.

Started about 7-8 years ago, currently in a band, been together about 2 1/2 years. First kit I think was a crappy Stagg thing, current kit is a Stage Master from Drumworld UK (unfortunately closed down a while ago). I like Paiste cymbals - got a 2oo2 Sound Edge hi-hat, Signature ride, couple of 802 crashes, 802 splash, plus a Zildjian ZXT ride (which to be fair isn't that bad) Oh, and a Stagg bell. Got some Aquarian Super 2 heads on my toms, and tend to use Remo Ambassador's on my snare. Vater Manhattan 7A's. Iron Cobra Powerglide single. Influences include Jon Theodore, Dom Howard, Phil Selway, Guy Davies, Thomas Pridgen... and that guy on youtube who drums to Super Mario Very Happy

Stagg are funny - most of their equipment is crap, and then their cymbals are surprisingly good!
