The gf has asked if theres anything I would want for my birthday and ive always fancied one, no idea why!

Can you get a decent one for 50 quid? Where should i be looking?

If not I will most likely end up getting a visor

I wouldn't have said you'd get a decent one for £50, but that's just me and I suspect I'll get jumped on for saying that.

You may be able to pick a decent reduced one up for that sort of money at somwhere like the NEC/ ExCel though. Thumbs Up

I bought one of the Lidl protectors, tried it on at home and it was like being on a spinal board. Confused Shocked

Needless to say it went straight back! (There is a pun in there...)

The Hein Gericke Hiprotec Backshock Air insert, is an economical alternative to a seperate strap-on back protector.
It's EN 1621-2 rated which is better than my current Knox Ricochet level-1 (now replaced by the Aegis which meets level-2).

I recently purchased one for my daughter's jacket, it comes in 3 sizes to fit standard insert pockets. If it doesn't fit it also has press-studs which can be sewn into the jacket lining.
This means that it can be removed if required, for when washing the jacket etc...

£20 and bob's you uncle Thumbs Up

ive got the £15 lidl one....swear by it now. yes its stiff at first but you get used to it and actually feel lost without it after a while. ive crashed 3 times with it now, 2 on track 1 on road (including flipping a wheelie and landing on my back) so it could probably do with being replaced but i will be going for the same again.

Would that fit into a Arnesless leather jacket in the back pocket?

I wouldn't know about specific jackets but the sizes are:

Small: L 35cm x W 23cm
Medium: L 40cm x W 25cm
Large: L 45cm x W 29cm

Interestingly they're listed at £20 on the website and £30 in their catalogue. Confused

They are stiff. It's the thickness I didn't like. Feel like a ninja turtle everytime I wear it, which isn't often as I keep forgetting. Rolling Eyes

you could get a armour set like i did and the back protector removable and i swear by it now, its nice and rigid and it helps my back from hurting while riding
