Well not quite RIP but still a royal pain in the hoop!
Left the house this morning and forgot my cigs, couldnt be bothered going back so went to buy another packet.
Shop then chanrges me 35p for using my card and as I am taking my card out Iphone fallx out of pocket and cracks the bottom left of the screen.
Called my bank as you get insurance for free with my account and they tell me "its classed as a PDA so not covered"
Shower of wank3rs! not the best start to the morning!
It still works but its lost its shine now lol
£150 to repair ehhh no I will wait for my upgrade as I bought the phone for £169 and unlocked it myself.

Dispute with your bank, I think the iPhone name sort of suggests what it is. It's a phone with fancy features. |

Not sure I'd want it back if it can't even survive being thrown on the floor from time to time. ____________________ My Flickr |

I have decided to get it up them.
Bit of a rant but to the point I think.
Note how I used the word dismayed
---------------------------------
I am writing to complain about your mobile phone insurance policy that I have as part of my royalties gold account. I purchased an Apple Iphone from o2 earlier this year and recently I called to register my phone for the insurance policy. I was dismayed to hear that my phone is not covered by your policy as it is classed as a PDA. My phone is not a PDA, under your terms and conditions you do not cover devices that use a windows mobile Symbian OS or PALM or a similar PDA type of interface whose primary function is off a business nature.
I purchased my IPhone as it is primarily used for calls and text, I also use it to listen to music. It cannot be classed as a business device as it requires ITUNES to be installed to use it and any features that could be construed as business are infact supplied by a third party at extra cost therefore does not come under its primary functions.
Are you then saying that all phones that have internet access are of a business nature are PDA's? This would mean that any phone with edge or gprs is infact a PDA. Infact any phone that has a calendar is in fact a PDA as it is personally assisting users to tell them what day it is what time it is and an alarm can go off reminding them or should we say assisting them in keeping track of what they are doing?
I would like to know where my Iphone comes under theses conditions? your terms say under our discretion, if that is the case then ALL mobile phones can be classed as PDAS. It just depends who you ask. I know there are devices that ARE infact business devices I support blackberry's as part of my job but an Iphone is not a business device nor was it sold as one or indeed advertised as one.
I read the terms when I was deciding whether or not to buy a separate policy from O2 and I have now relinquished that right.
I feel that an Iphone is not a PDA it is for calls texts and music. It has an email function but so did my Sony Ericsson K800i? Would you not cover that either? I feel my points are valid and would appreciate this phone being included under my policy which at the moment is worth nothing to me and has left me uninsured due to a difference of opinion and not a technical reasoning.

Wahbam! take a hold of that f!ckers!

I love my iphone more than the wife lol
I dropped mine but it slid down the bog wall and hit a tile sticking out which dented the case but luckily didn't smash it.
What you gonna do mate? I think I would have to get another I cant live with out it now!

My insurance is with RBS and from what I have read in the terms and conditions they dont have a leg to stand on. The problem is they wont let me register it. I have not told them its broken yet I will wait for a couple of weeks after they cave. (I know I sound hopeful right?!)
I will get a pic up of the damage its not THAT bad but its cracked in few places around the phone key.
Steve, that wont work as its the actual glass thats broken, cheers for the link though.
If I dont get it fixed I will just keep using it until I get an upgrade then I may try the new 3g one or the Samsung omnia
When I hear anything I will let you guys know.
