Do you have to display L plates if you have a car license and a CBT?

When did you pass your car test, if you passed before 01/02/2001, then you do not need L-Plates on a moped. Not sure wether this applies to 125cc.

On a moped (49cc, restricted to 31mph) you can carry a passenger and ride without L plates if you have a car license after February 2001 and DL196 (from the CBT). If you got your license before February 2001, you don't need to do CBT. Your DL196 is valid for the duration of your license when it comes to mopeds.

As for bigger bikes, you still need to display L plates and still have to ride with the restrictions of 125cc engine size, power output, not carrying passengers and not going on motorways. Your DL196 is also valid for 2 years for larger machines. Thumbs Up

It wasnt actually my test today, ive only just noticed i put the wrong date in my sig Embarassed

Its the 28th (tomorrow) Smile

And my training that was today.

Went well i feel, instructor was pleased, got a long ride out tomorrow morning to the test centre (in Leicester Laughing

) but should be fun.
