My Motorhispania stopped running because the barrel had cracked and coolant was getting into the fuel. I have since ordered a new one and am about to fit it.

Just before i do though, i want to remove the fuel from the crankcase just incase that has any coolant in it. How can i do this? The bike is a MotorHispania RX50, so same engine as an RS50. I'd prefer to do it with the engine in the bike, but if there's no other way..

Cheers

Stu

Remove fuel from where?

There shouldn't be any fuel in the crankcase in the first place. How did it get there? Or do you mean something else?

Do you mean you're worried coolant might have got into the crankcase?

If you're worried it might have fluid in the crankcase, take the plug out and kick it over a few times. Any fluid will quickly become apparent

If it is a two-stroke it will not have a drain plug. The answer is easy though, when the barrel is off simply get a couple of mates and turn the bike upside-down and drain it that way.
Edit
Drain the fuel and take the battery off first!

hey bud...

depends how much there is, iv had the same problem when my bike was left outside with the head off, the crank case filled with water... anyway

i took the engine out, and cleaned it out with parafin oil...

i also tryed puttin a straw down and sucking some out Laughing

best way with the engine in the bike is a cloth, put the crank to oneside and put a cloth around the screwdriverand just push it down.... just use ya savvy abit... dont start grinding the screwdriver around on the inside and watch the crank..

I'm with Ariel on that one then. Tank off, battery off and turn it upside down just like you'd do with a push bike to remove a wheel.
