Where and when?
Location is Hullavington, which is very close to junction 17 of the M4. Click here for map.
You will need to arrive at the track for 11am - 11:30am on Saturday 1st November.

What?
You can do both, just minimoto, karting or just come to watch (which is free Smile ).
Format will be something like last time; a fifteen minute practice and fifteen minute race for both karting and minimoto.

How much?
Total cost will be £30 for one activity or £50 to do both.
Deposits will be £10 for one vehicle or £15 for both, leaving £20 or £35 to pay respectively.

Your deposit guarantees your place; please get them to me by the 19th October. Places still left providing I get the deposit before then (will have to confirm with the circuit at that point).

Please PM and I will respond with details on money transfer if you wish to put a deposit down.*

*See lower down for deposit details.

Food
They have a cafe there, which I'm told (by them) is very good, so bring some money for food if you want to eat there.
Alternatively, you can always bring some food yourself.
Bringing some drinks is probably a good idea; it can get quite tiring out there, especially if you're doing both activities.

Other
If you're coming from a way away, you're welcome to make use of my living-room floor on Friday Night Ill be going to bed early though (ie midnight, not 4am), so if you want drunken debauchery, do it quietly!

On Saturday night Id be up for a few drinks in Reading town; you're welcome to join me and again make use of my floor again. If you need somewhere to sleep but don't want to be involved in the drunkurdness, that can probably be arranged too.

The important list, Deposits Paid:

My name isn't in the list, why not?
Most probably, because after paying your deposit, you didn't pm me again to tell me you've done the transfer/paypal along with the requested details.
Of course, you might not have paid it or requested details - if so please PM me to do so.
If you have done all the above, please pm me again and I'll add you to the list.

Deposit Details
Try and get deposits to me by the 12th of October, so I've got a good idea of how much track time we will need. The cut-off to guarantee your place will be the 19th October, however hopefully I can extend this; will depend on how many have booked and if there are any other bookings for the day, etc.

I can't be arsed with paying cheques in myself, so you can pay me by:
Cash/cheque/bank transfer paid into my Barclays bank account or by Paypal (a paypal deposit will cost either 15.75 or 10.60. This is to cover the paypal fees I will have to pay.)

These will be non-refundable, I'm afraid; however if you can't make it, I will do my best to ensure that someone else takes the place and sends you the money for their deposit, so you don't lose it. Please contact me as soon as you know you can't make it if this is the case.

As mentioned, if you have problems getting the deposit in time, talk to me and I can see what we can do.

Please note down whether you want to do Minimoto, Karting, or both.
Also, whether you need somewhere to sleep on Friday and/or Saturday Night.
Youre welcome to bring friends along, but please mention them on here along with the above details if they are going to be riding/driving/wanting food etc.

Minimoto Kit
I've had a few questions asking what kit to bring.
I would recommend the following for minimoto:
Helmet, Bike jacket, gloves, tatty jeans or similar and fairly flexible footwear*. Ideally boots, but most bike boots won't be flexible enough so an old pair of trainers is fine.
The floor is quite smooth, so, especially at the speeds we're going, abrasion isn't a big problem; however do expect some marking if you come off, so probably best not to being your brand new pair of 100 shiny white bling trainers.

* The 'position' for minimoto is to have the soles of your feet flat against the side of the bike (I'm still not sure if my leg can handle this as the ankle's still a bit iffy Confused) rather than on the pegs, so a reasonable amount of flexibility in your footwear is required.

You don't 'need' to bring any kit, but it's always nice to have your own helmet, rather than one used by several other people that day! Similarly, an armoured bike jacket Of course being a bit slippy and quite slow speed, expect to crash, so again, maybe not your brand-new top-of-the-range Arai Smile.

For Karting: your own helmet if you've got one (you've got to be /really/ trying to damage your helmet while karting!)
They provide overalls and gloves that are akin to builders gloves - motocross gloves might be similar, but some find leather bike gloves a bit too slippy.

I have confirmed with Hullavington for 37 people karting and 32 doing minimoto.
So far it looks like there should be plenty of minimoto spaces available if anyone else wants to come and play.
Karting spaces should be limited to around 45; though this may drop down to 38. If you still want to leave a deposit to come play, please contact me. As ever, it'll be first come first served for a guaranteed place. Though I'm hoping you'll still be able to turn up and pay on the day if needed.

Food

The cafe on site will do food for 5 per head.

Typical food for this sort of place, so:
chicken, burger, sausage or chicken nuggets all with chips and a drink for your 5.

Could I get an idea of who wants what food; so they know what to bring in and especially for stuff like the chicken, what to get cooking in advance.

What do you want to do?

I have one space for minimoto that is booked and deposited and if pyro is definitely dropping out, whatever he was going to do.
Can probably add more on top of that, but would have to check up.

Both if that's fine by you. I can pay Paypal.

I'm working at the moment (on internet phone) and will get home for around 10pm.

Chicken Nuggets and Chips for me please. Thumbs Up

G, do you know stuff like who we are meeting at Hullavington and who we are expecting to arrive in our street etc? I'm just thinking about car/motorcycle parking...

Burger & chips I guess.

May I suggest that folks bring CASH to pay the balance, last time it was a bit of a faff with folks doing card, be easier if folks have real money.

Sausage & Chips for 1.

Chris says he doesn't want to eat anything as he'll be staying as lightweight as possible to kick your asses...

He didn't really, but he doesn't want anything.

I've sent out PMs to the people on the list I had.

If you have already told me you won't be able to come (as a few have), I should be able to get you your deposits back - please contact me on Monday evening or later (very busy before then) and I'll get it sorted. Don't worry about other people 'replacing' you.

If you would still like to come, there are spaces available; there's still a 'buffer zone' of spaces; so you can turn up and pay on the day.
Please contact me and I will forward you the details of how to get there, etc.
Similarly, if you should have a message and haven't got one, drop me a line and I'll forward on the details.

As I mentioned elsewhere, apologies for delays in replying; I've been unexpectedly a lot busier than I expected on something fairly important; very bad timing, but such is life. Also found out I most probably won't be able to do minimotos as my leg still hurts from just sitting on mine in the living room on Monday, which is a bit gutting Crying or Very sad.

Remember to bring your t-shirts with names on Thumbs Up.
