Does Honda have any gearless bike (not gearless scooter) ? Is Honda CB400N available in India (Bangalore) ? Does this model still come ? Does Honda (or any other company) have any plan to launch gearless motorbike ?

Gears can be a hinderance is certain situations, ie when I approached Paris / Nice / Reims / Grenoble and when I entered (foolishly) cadiz.

In that the traffic is so awful around there and the driving so bad you generally ride around in the wrong gear to keep the observations up.

while scooters just zip in and out of traffic...

that said any future tour I won't enter cities at all...

Have you ever considered that the OP may not physically be able to change gear.

Being in the right gear should just become natural the more you do it. I don't need to think about it anymore.

Plenty of other solutions for that.

I like the idea of a gearless bike done right; just nobody's done it (ie a constantly variable system which you can control, though probably be a bit hard to 'learn').

Possibly Smile

It should tell you something that Hondas flagship sportsbike there is called the Unicorn which looks to be a CG150 with a bikini fairing.

Sorry itchy but I really disagree with that comment.
I live in Barcelona, and it never seizes to amaze me that I can go through a roundabout without being mangled, cause cars and bikes go EVERYWHERE. Sure you have to shift a lot more in the city, especially in a lot of traffic and stuff, but it's not hard. I shift every few seconds cause there's stuff going on all the time, but that comes as second nature now, so not a problem

No the bikes with more CC are allowed in idia, its just that the production is not that great here, coz of the mileage. and fuel is really very costly

no enfields are not, in fact they are available in 250CC, 350CC & 500CC.

No Honda doesnt have any gearless bikes in india at the moment, but if you book it from honda to get one imported to india, there are some duty relaxations.

Ah ok. I was there this year and I only saw 150cc bikes. My hosts said it was because that was the legal limit. I did ask about Royal Enfields but I thought maybe they were for export only or something.

Get a bloody C90, everyone else in India has one Razz

Granted they're only semi-auto, but no clutch to worry about.
