Mate if its the same person im talking to them now, yes its not good but seeing the doctor would help. They can give him tablets to take people out of this state of depression, if people dont want to goto the doctor in the first place....well..

Probably some sick f*** having a 'joke' (I use the word loosely), people who kill themselves tend not to announce it. Your right this person is not your responsibility, you are not an agony aunt. If this person is joking they should grow the f*** up! Try not to worry about this person and get some sleep.

Take it easy

I don't think so mate, I feel for the guy. and i can understand the depression.
But people need to know there is help out there... i don't think its a call for attention i deffinatly know he is not doing it for a joke. Person needs help..what more can i say? even to have such thoughts go through ones mind is dangerous i would think.

In my opinion most people who would be serious about these sort of things and not just trying to get attention are not the sort of people to go about and tell everybody about it.

there was of course the lad from america who was boasting about taking a mixture of tablets and drugs on a chat channel, most people were telling him to try this or try more, of course thinking this guy was messing, only a few tried to help....his mum found him in the morning dead.....i have seen the chat log and it makes for some horiffic reading....very sad

Either that or it is a cry for help in some cases. Like saying if I tell you maybe you will listen to me and help me and please note I did not say this was true in all cases.

I too watched the program on TV a while back about some teenager that was in a chat room threatening to take this and that drugs wise, and boasting about it etc etc. He then posted his phone number if I remember correctly and asked for someone to call for help, one person did call him but didn't send for help.

Everyone else sat in the room laughing and joking, presumable thinking he was joking.

Then he was found dead by his mum the next day.

I think thats how the program went anyway, can't remember all of it but was a good watch. In my opinion people who threaten suicide over chat rooms are really out of order as you really don't know if they are for real/kidding or whatever.

Someone I used to talk to on messenger was threatening it one night (well, all the bloody time actually), then she went quiet.

She cut her wrists but was found by someone and taken to hospital and as far as I'm aware she is still around these days, no idea to be honest.

There is no need to start shouting but to be perfectly honest it is a cowards way out if you think that killing yourself is you're only option. Like I said before I think this is the case only in some.

I disagree.. people who are thinking about suicide often tell people, you might not want to hear it but then again you may be their last port of help. It is unfair however for this person to un-load all of this on you and expect you to help, if you feel unable to do so

You cant pigeon hole this, people react differently to things and cope or not cope with things in different ways. Yes there are people that are doing it as a cry for help just as there are people doing it 4 a million and one other reasons.

If someone has a genuine problem then they should talk to a professional (i.e the samaritans) or friends and family if possible and not unload it on to strangers in chat rooms.

That person had no right to log on and announce that and upset people like that!

How many people in chat rooms are trained councillors? There's probably a chat room for this kind of thing with people who could help.

Maybe i'm a cold hearted f**ker but it sounds to me like this person just wanted an audience. Sorry but it does. I really do hope this person is ok but to me it sounds like attention seeking or a wind up.

Either way Thumbs Down

It is evolutionary natural for people to talk about kiiling themselves instead of leaving it to themselves, suicide is always a last resort and instinctively you will cry for help for a long time before.

Yes well this is the problem, as the person in question is at the cry for help stage at the moment.
