hi all, wondering if the 2 stroke oil mix on my NSR 125 RR is too strong with the petrol.

If there is too much, what can it do, and how can I adjust it?

There is a screw on the carb which if you turn will make the mixture richer or more lean.

Thankyou

So is it all just trial and error to adjust the mix?

Cheers

Just an idea to see if can get a cleaner burn, so don't have to clean spark plug so often!

Now I want to find out how to clean the carb now that you've said that.

What do you ride then Jammy?

Oh no no no, if you set it too low you run a very good risk of seizing the engine.

There will probably be a setting ie 3 turns from when its fully screwed in , but I don't know what it is so wait until someone can tell you.

According to the Honda NSR manual it's 2 and a half turns from closed. So screw it all the way in first. (not tight) then turn it anticlockwise 2 and a half times.

Hi

The main jet only really affects the mixture after about 3/4 throttle. Basically the needle controls it from about 1/4 to 3/4 and the idle screw (and the shape of the cut out on the bottom of the carb slide) the mixture under 1/4 throttle.

None of those will have any effect on the amount of oil being pumped in. That is controlled by adjusting the cable going to the oil pump, which lives under a cover on the side of the engine.

All the best

Keith
