Sorry for the crap thread title, but I couldn't think of anything catchy! Laughing

What it is, I have size 13 feet and I ride with my toes on the footpegs... this causes the heel of my left boot to rub against the swingarm brace

I don't have a pic of it but you can see the shape of it in this guys pic ..

https://w3.bikepics.com/pics/2008/05/14/bikepics-1288931-800.jpg

Any ideas what I could do to minimise it from getting worse?

Ideally I'd like to powdercoat it, but

a) I can't be ar$ed at the moment
b) it would only happen again

Any ideas guru's?

i get the same thing on my blade. My boot rubs on the exhaust shield. I just used a bit of sticky backed plastic. it last a few week and is cheap to replace.

Just glue some rubber to it, it works for the bottom of your swing arm where the chain rubs against it lightly now and again should work for your foot.

Surely there should be a small ABS plastic bracket there? I thought all bikes have one.

But still they wear away, but not so much because of the chain lube.

I would do what most people are saying. Just get a sticker or something similar to stick on, then replace when it wears down.

You could just get some of that cheap paper laminator plastic. Its adhesive on one side. Just cut it out and stick it onto the swingarm. It wont be too noticeable because its clear.

I think if you heat the stuff up with a hair dryer it will just peel away.

Could be an issue if the bike gets hot then the laminate plastic flies off and attaches to the helmet of a police biker behind you, who then swerves into the path of an oncoming lorry...

That would be bad.

Thumbs Up

But tbh, stickers stay on Laughing

And if this did happen, just say it was an accident.
