Bike runs cold, or the gauge says so?

I always seem to have some strange problems with either bike or car.

The temp gauge.

As far as I am aware the bike is getting to temperature and the fan kicking in appropriately when hot (even after the bike has been turned off, but that's maybe a different problem ). But when riding the temperature gauge falls and sits just above the first (thin) white line and only rises when at a standstill.

The dyno man mentioned it as being odd as the temperature on the gauge plummeted when the (workshop) fan during the run was switched on.

Faulty thermostat?

ahh. a kawasaki. all mine have run just above cold unless in traffic etc.
just be pleased your radiator is working

my 636 has a digital gauge and it runs at around 70 degrees normal,
90 - 100 degrees in traffic and 115+ when doing a burnout for about a minute

My CBR600 runs justs above the cold line, as did my Bros before that. I know it's normal for the Bros and I assume it's normal for the CBR but I've never actually checked it out But yes, if it is running too cold then it's going to be the thermostat probably. Just ask other owners of the same bike on here how hot theirs run if you want peace of mind but as Rotax said, it's probably normal

I know its not why yours doesnt read... but my temp guage in my gpz read nothing when all of the coolant leaked out due to the sensor running in water!
