Depositing UK-issued check into an overseas (sterling) acc?

Hi all,

I've pondering this for a little while, but I can't quite convince myself of either outcome.

Basically, if I had a sterling account overseas, would I be able to deposit cheques issued from the UK into that account?

Logistics aside, would it just be a matter of it taking longer and/or incur a charge, or is it just not possible?
