I bought a second DELL flat screen monitor from ebay So I could have a matching pair of screens on my desktop rather than odd monitors.

Received it in the post, the auction advertised it as "In good working order".

When you power it off, It just glows up white. Doesn't switch off.
When you are watching something, say a film, Or even a web page like this one on BCF, where the whole screen is relatively one colour, You can see that the bottom half of the screen is dark, and the top half is bright.

Yes I've messed with the settings and even tried the auto adjust feature. Doesn't seem to sort it out.

Theres also a deep scratch in the screen, top left.
I cant help but notice this when I am using it as it is actually on the screen its self. Not on the monitor casings.


I left good feedback without testing the item. Stupid I know.
Found it was faulty a day later. Contacted the seller, 2 days later still didn't hear anything. So I opened a dispute via Paypal. And within a hour he emailed me saying he's sorry to hear I felt it necessary to take this sort of action.

I know I shouldn't, But I feel cuntish now.

i know what you mean, i have an ongoing saga with a car headlight i returned. i sent it back as it was broken and never had a refund or any contact ever again despite numberous calls and emails. Now ive started a claim with moneyclaim.gov and it has been judged in my favor so now they are sending in the bailiffs to collect my money or goods to the value of it. it was only £80 FFS now the bill has rocketed to around £200.

I suppose it serves the seller right for mugging me but i still feel a tiny bit bad that the bailiffs are now involved.

I ordered 3 number plates off ebay, never turned up.

So I filed a report with paypal, buyer said he would sort it out but at the same time claimed to paypal that I never paid for them.

Got the plates in the end but still have 3 unpaid item strikes against me and the seller has never responded to my emails asking for him to cancel them.
