Made me laugh on the Scott Mills' show yesterday, they asked 7 British people in the street who they will be voting for in the American election
6 said Obama, the last guy said 'dunno'.
The reporter then asked him 'are you actually American?'
'No.'
'So are you actually allowed to vote in the election?'
'Yeah, cause I'm 19, so obviously I am...'

c) Not bothered either way.
For one, it's highly likely that neither of them are eligible to become President.
Two, they will run nothing, nada, nil. The same private interest groups that run the good ol' US of A will have a different face on, that's all.
Three. Their general policies are identical. Stay in Iraq, less freedoms, more bailout cash for their cronies.
Four, no matter who the US public votes for, the election will always be decided by those controlling the electronic voting machines which have been completely discredited.
It's a publicity contest, and one that is festooned upon the rest of the world under the pretense that Americans are free and the US President is actually steering the ship. Laughable doesn't cover it.

To be totally honest, I've looked at neither party's manifestos, so I personally have no idea which party would be the "better" of the two.
I have, however, witnessed a complete cretin be in charge of the USA for the last 7 years. How on earth the Americans voted for someone who puts Boris Johnson to shame in the buffounary stakes as a leader of their nation I will never know.
I'm not sure which outcome would be the worst for America (and for us as a nation), but I know I can count on the American citizens to vote the wrong way.
Judging on what I've read about each candidate (I mean personality wise, not party wise), I think Obama would be a stronger leader who was capable of making the correct decisions over McCain. Whether the Democrats are the right choice however I don't know, which is what the American citizens should be looking at, not treating it like a popularity contest. The whole election seems to be a "Class President" type affair, which after all is what American youth are used to.
I'm just happy to see 'W' leave office. ____________________ Current: ZZR1400

They didn't. He lost, but the boys on the hill decided otherwise and fiddled it, hence why the whole thing is about as credible as a chocolate teapot.
The same will likely happen this time, Charleston Heston has only just snuffed it, there are plenty more that need to. America isn't ready for a black dude yet.

Nail on the head, if you can actually keep your ears open long enough to absorb any of the speeches, it makes you want to be sick with what a load of bullshit they spout. "it's time for a new america, forward as a nation, change is now, this message is endorsed by mcdonalds and pepsi corp etc"
Err, no.
I haven't gone very deep into it, there is enough shite to be irriated by over here, still not sure the difference essentially between republican and democrat.
McCain's vietnam war hero angle, really gets on my wick though. Yanks never seem to tire of each and everyones own personal vietnam saga. ____________________ So in other words, he stopped you for being flagrantly in posession of a motorcycle in direct contravention of the Hippies, Darkies and People Whose Face I Don't Like The Look of (Police Powers) Act. 1976 |
