We've had who do you want to win, but who do you think will win the election and why?

McCain. There's too many idiots, and Obama sounds too much like Osama, and he's the wrong colour.

All the best

I was actually going to add has there been much change since his death. I think it will be interesting to see who wins but again will it make much of a difference who is the figure head?

Why do people feel the need to quote a gangster rapper on political things?

I mean FFS someone did it my 1st week of A level politics and got laughed out of the room. Just because he was eloquent doesn't mean he wasn't a nob.

At a guess, I'd say it was because that person thinks that an American gangsta might know a little bit more about what lurks deep in the American pysche than a class of cackling British A-Level politics students?

Owdamer makes a good point though.

I'm pretty certain Obama's gonna win - I'm equally certain he'll turn out to be like Blair, showing great promise but failing us all in the long run.

I would rather Obama win than an old bloke and the all new elect me Barbie. I saw one of her speeches, "We're gonna win America, woooo" I expected her to break out the pom poms. Plus she is governor of Alaska, The would be like our deputy PM being MP of the Shetland Isles surely. McCain won't last 4 years ill health will see to that and I would not like her in charge of the Big red button.

Turned the telly off at 1ish and McCain was 13-8 in the lead. Just checked the beebs site, and Obama has a fair lead, with none of the west coast results in, so I'd say it was a safe bet he's taken it. Though thats assuming the traditionally democrat states havent decided against voting for a brown candidate with a funny name.

It's almost exiting, anyone else watching

Massive lead now for Obama based on provisional results and exit polls. Obama 207 vs 138, although there are some significant states to come in which are looking really tight at the moment:

Florida, Virginia, N Carolina, Indiana and Missouri (which has apparently gone the same way as the overall winner in all but one presidential election). All yet to come in, all pretty hefty and all very tight. If McCain gets those then he could be in for a shout.

Dependent on California!

Not exciting, just a distraction from work and I'm nosy!

Yep - it's not that exciting though, there are precious few upsets. It does get a little bit annoying that the BBC only interviews morons on the GOP's side, but finds witty and engaging characters like Eddie Izzard to speak for the Democrats. Bolton got it right when he took the piss out of the Beeb for wishing an early victory on Obama.

I reckon Obama's gonna take it Whistle , I hope the BBC have interesting, pointless and distracting graphical representations to confuse stuff.

*goes to get a cuppa and a bowl of cookie crisp, I have nothing to do tommorow anyway*

Unlucky Tristen, currently showing California going toObama, and giving him 293 electoral votes, when he only needs 270.

Looks like game over to big John.
