Drain it and refill with petrol.
Then ride it to Halfrauds or somewhere like that to buy the biggest sticker you can find which says "PETROL", then stick that on the tank.

Diesel in a petrol isn't a massive worry, once you've got most of it drained out any remaining will be diluted enough that it won't cause problems. Tank full of petrol for a diesel engine, you wouldn't even want to try and start it.

I put some petrol in the oil to top it up and get some petrol flowing around the engine, but it still won't start

You have drained the tank out completely yes?

If not, then don't bother. I put Diesel on my Hornet ages ago. Had to empty the tank carbs and replace the spark plugs.

Obviously there's no carbs but definately empty the tank outright, 100%. And clean the spark plugs and be ready as you might have to change them (I did anyways).

Also, a minute on the limiter?! I know you're probably exaggerating as someone would've told you to shut the fuck up from the noise it would make but still?

I suspect it was most likely a couple of quick flicks of the wrist on the throttle to get it roaring into life, not sat bouncing on the limiter for 1-2 minutes. RXS Chris, I'm outta Karma but a funny is due..

There is nothing to add really in the way of advice, and I'm not being nasty or anything, but reading this thread is hillarity.

Drain the tank dry.
Whip out the plugs, inspect/clean/replace.
If you really want to strip and clena the carbs?
I'm tempted to advise you to turn it over with full throttle, I would say no choke but obviously its FI so there is no choke... This helps to deflood an engine but I'm not sure how much use it is for draining diesel, but it can't hurt so do it anyway.
FILL with PETROL. Bit of Redex might not hurt
