erm excuse me but... even authorised 25 % is a heck of a lot of time to loose.

I would suggest she tries a bit harder to get motivated about college.

Authorised or not, being off one in four days is taking the piss tbh. The head has every right to throw someone off a course if they show that sort of commitment.

If you phoned the college for her (why did you do this, it's her job), you presumably told them you were her boyfriend. So then if her nan confirmed she was with her boyfriend when they phoned, what's the problem, wouldn't have sounded dodgy.

If she skips college a lot when going round yours, even if she goes home before you head off to work, maybe you should stop seeing her on nights/mornings before college. Young people can be easily swayed and it's your responsibility to not encourage her to choose doing something with you over going to college.

I did block release (well 1 day a week) for the past 3 years, and in each year yuo had to get 75% attendance just to pass the course.

So yeah i agree with the above, tell her to get motivated a bit. Maybe she does have a bad cold or whatnot, but its better going in and struggling through the day than failing the course Wink

Being Honest warped, I pop into work when I'm almost dying to at least get sent home and show my reason is valid, why can't she? Sonds like she's tossing it off. Before you get as defensive over that as I would reading it, think if she was single, would she be as willing to not attend as much?

At the local college here you're in danger of being dropped after missing 4 classes over 16 weeks, which is usually 32 classes on any particular subject before you get the bums rush..

Don't you lose your EMA as well if you miss 1 day out of the week?
You need to encourage her to attend college instead of taking so much time off sick, it is her future after all. Who is going to want to employ someone with such a poor attendance record?

If she has psychological problems then the college should make adjustments to enable her to complete the course (within reason). Get her to talk to the college about the DDA

The bottom line is that she is missing college and the head teacher has a good reason to put it down as unauthorised. 'Feeling unwell' isn't a good enough reason to miss school and definitely won't get any sympathy from the teachers - they hear that everyday and no offence to your girlfriend, but it's usually the same people that it comes from week in week out.

If she's not going to college 25% of the time, then there is definitely an attendance problem, regardless of doctors notes etc. That figure should be at least 90 - 95%.

I'd suggest to talk to her as the college are not exactly in the wrong. It's her attitude towards her education that needs to change because if she can't be bothered turning up every 1 in 4 days, then the college has every right to question whether she is actually putting her full effort into the course.

It's not what you want to hear, but it's true.

If she was in employment and had an absence rate of just 3% no matter what the reason she could be looking at the push.
Tell her to get her arse into school and stop fucking around.

It's not your responsibility to take her there if she can get there herself. What would your boss have to say about you taking time off every day?

If attendent in compulsary then she's got to go or get chucked out end off.

Depends what she wants to do. If she has no further education aspirations then get out, if she does then get her arse motivated and get in.

Your pussy-whipped.

Seriously, don't help her out on anything especially if it means putting your job on the line and also your pay. She needs to learn to do things by herself, she won't always have someone there to help her out on everything. Sounds like she either needs to quit college or grow up and get into college on time.

I can admit that i don't have the best attendance rate but i know if i'm taking it too far and i tend not to miss as much this year because it's my second and last one.

Getting kicked out of college obviously wouldn't be a big deal to her or add to her problems at all otherwise she would go in no matter what.
