Anyone seen it?

First off, I usually think James Bond movies suck for the most part, childish nonsense (especially the Brosnan stuff - invisible car? f off)

However, I watched Casino Royale last night and went and seen QoS today, and have to say I'm now a fan again!

Yes i was sad enough to go to the cinema on my own to watch QoS as no other fucker wanted to, I thought it was good a lot faster paced than Casino Royale in a shorter time which made for hard brain time trying to keep up!!

I was never that big a fan of the older Bond's but these last two are great!!!

Don't believe the Quantum of Solace haters people !! Its great!!

Is that not the Bond fanatics that's hating on it?

I think the same reason I like it, is the reason they dislike it.

It's really just an action movie where the main character happens to be named James Bond... as opposed to a "James Bond movie" ..if that makes sense

Looking forward to it, if Casino Royale was anything to go by.

However, why does everyone hate Brosnan as bond so much, the last two were a bit crap, especially the invisible car/ice palace malarky.

But Goldeneye was a cracking film, people said similar things at the time, as they did about Casino Royale, people seem to have forgotten. Tomorrow never dies wasn't a bad effort either, no real cause for complaint although its been a while since I've seen it.

Is it fair to criticise a formally good bond for his latter day sins?

Like I said, I'm not a Bond fan, haven't been since I was a kid, but as I had agreed to go see the new one with the guys at work and ITV2 had been showing a few of them last week (do they ever stop actually?) - I tuned into Goldeneye, I lasted 1hr 20m before the bullshit got too much

I fell asleep the next night during Tomorrow Never Dies. *shrugs*

Nothing against Brosnan, liked him in other things.

Early Brosnan Bond used to be my favourite - I could never really gel with the earlier ones, especially Moore and Connery.

These latest films are far superior though, Daniel Craig is excellent, and they just improve on the old films in every way. To my mind, QoS wasn't quite as good as CR, but that's just nit-picking.

The older Bonds where ok but they are crap now and so played out with me. Stupid cheesy lines, James acting like a slut, bad guy dies, someone tries to take over the world, some crappy song that you dont hear the end of. YAWN.

Shirley Bassey is exempt from that last sentance I quite like her.

Can't say I was impressed with Casino Royal. Seemed the they were so busy thinking of ways to do real stunts that they forgot to give it much of a story.

Exactly Keith. I saw QoS last week and I thought that had the film not had 007 in the title it would have been a "straight to DVD" film. Had such a poor plot, a real letdown after the brilliant Casino Royale.

The first scene with the Aston Martins were absolute sex though, sounded so amazing, the title song was good also, after that it was poor poor poor.

i found the new james bond quite good. my girlfriend who does not normally like james bond found quantum of solace quite action filled which kept her interest, while the older ones concentrated on too much of a plot.
