I'm gonna be back on my trusty steed on monday after nearly a year off due to being too pregnant and short armed to reach the handlebars last summer and having tendonitus in my wrists from picking the littlun up so much since she was born in October.
The wrists are kinda better now and I'm gagging to get back on my two wheeled baby, but what words of caution can you offer me before I take the plunge?!
Cheers guys,
Cath Laughing

Take it easy and remember no one in a car has seen you!

Be careful you've got a little one waiting at home for you. Smile

It'll all come back to you, it's just like riding a bike.

Err, Doh!

Hmmm... the words 'as easy as falling off a bike' spring to mind! Add to that the fact that the last 3 letters of my numberplate are PTO and I'm getting scared!!

Could be a good idea to ride as if you're running it in from new too - you don't want to cause damage if it's been sat there for a year.

Keep your eyes open and be ready for anything.

You'll be fine. Smile

If it's the bike you had a year ago, it might be worth going over the basics to make sure everything's ok.

Definitely take it easy, especially if you've been driving a car; remember those corners come up a lot faster on the bike Smile.... And as has been mentioned, may contain slidey stuff that wouldn't worry a car, but can be very nasty on a bike.

Probably best to take it easy in traffic if you did any moderate filtering before; just so you remember exactly how bad some other road users are Thinking .

Oh, and, Have fun Wink.

I can't think of any advice that hasn't been given, but just thought I'd say congratulations on having a little sprog, and congratulations on making it through to getting back on the bike. I'm glad to be a bloke if only because I will never have the pain and discomfort caused by not being able to ride my bike because of pregnancy... Providing my better half doesn't ask me not to ride when she can't Praying

Anyway, hope the open road feels as good now as it did when you started your pause. Enjoy Thumbs Up

The bike should be fine as hubby has been taking it for quick rides while I've not been able to, whilst moaning how horrible it feels after his R6 - pah! the man has no soul Wink

Not only did I ride to work this morning, laughing at the queue of cars on the motorway as I filtered past them, but I went out on a ride with hubby yesterday down sunny country roads and am now full of the joys of being back on 2 wheels! I was a bit nervous on the way out and have completely forgotten slow speed cornering (!) but was grinning like a fool on the way back and can't wait to go out again!
And other people on bikes nodded at me and everything! Ooh, it's good to be back Laughing
