Hi
I replaced the bars on my XR250, and now the throttle is very stiff and wont spring back, It has two cables, one push and one pull.
I removed the cables fully from the carb to test the spring mech, and it works fine.
Any help is greatly appreciated! This is driving me nuts!!!!

Check the routing of the cables and make sure they don't go around any tight corners. Also check the cables are not getting trapped by something.

Might be worth disconnecting each one at a time to find out the one that it tight and causing the problem.

If both are free check the throttle tube is moving free on the bars.

I took the whole assembly off, and tried putting it all back on,
Is it possible dirt could of got inside the cables and is causing resistance?
The bike had been stood a for a number of years, and all the moving parts had been coated in a silly amount of grease. I've tried greasing up the cables and they seem to move fine now. Totally confused! Anyone in Leeds fancy helping me out in exchange for beers?

Grease won't penetrate and move down the sleeve to the cables it will just sit at where you have put it, oil is a much better bet.
