I watched it on Youtube before it was removed. Razz

Calzaghe is a brilliant boxer but again, it's another one of those fights where the loser was way past it like Lewis vs Tyson. Calzaghe was showing off big time, the way Roy Jones would which was fun to watch, you could tell he had it in the bag early on.

Stayed up round a mates house and watched it live on Setanta.

Calzaghe looked like losing it until he opened up Jones and it was good night from then on Thumbs Up

An 'in his prime' Jones Jnr would never have taken the onslaught (specifically on the ropes) that Calzaghe managed to deliver round after round. Time after time Jones had to cover up and take body and head blows purely due to the fact that he was unable to summon up the efforts that a younger Jones Jnr used to be able to. Hopefully he'll have the sense to retire now and not continue to blight a career that has seen him quite rightly labelled as one of the all time greats.

That said you can only beat what's in front of you and Calzaghe once again showed that his fitness and appetite for the game is still second to none - I'm pretty sure he'll fight at least one more time despite suggestions to the contrary.

As the commentators on Setanta said, it would be a shame for us not to get another chance to witness such perfection - Calzaghe shows no signs of losing his reactions, speed or sheer desire. I'm hoping he'll bow out after a big fight at the Millenium Stadium, but I'm not sure who he would fight.

Truth is, he'll only go for a big money deal with a 'legend' and I'm not sure who that could be. Part of me wonders if a rematch with B-hop is on the cards, but that'd likely make for a pretty boring repeat so I'm hoping for something else.

roy jones would have found it difficult to fight calzaghe in his prime. joe has another level even at this fight. if he was pressured more he would not have toyed with roy and hit more. also joe in the past had slightly more bang in his punches.

that being said i do feel roy is shot but then look how bad hopkins looked vs joe and then look how great he looked winning 12 rounds vs kelly pavlik (whom everyone said was the only threat to joe until he got slughtered). so until roy fights again in his home town (i hope he does) we won't be able to see how shot he is.

joe calzaghe makes you stop doing what you do best. he isn't easy to hit and spoils your game. even his pitty patter punches will cause you to blink and not throw.

kessler had a great jab but joe made him not throw it.
lacy had power but joe made him miss
hopkins killed pavlik but looked an old man with joe.
roy has great speed and reflexes but joe is faster than anyone he has fought. so therefore he could not get out the way anyway. plus joe is not easy to hit with his head movement and footwork and 100 punches thrown. joe calzaghe is a bad match up for jones like glen johnson was. too much stamina and pressure

Well if you havent seen the fight you can download it on torrents + lots of places are now streaming it.

I stayed up and caught the whole fight, if Jones never got cut then the fight would not have been so one sided. The conditioning of Cal is top notch.

Good fight
