this guy reckons that he can straighten out the frame and discs on his bike, i emailed him to tell him he couldnt and if he dropped his price to a more realistic figure i might be intrested...

Hate to tell you this, ok I don't. You're wrong.

Had several Aluminium frames straightened by Maidstone Motoliner. They also do discs.

Some frames are fine some crack, some discs are fine, some need a skim, some are warped.

You can straighten a frame there was an article on this in streetfighters a few years back and is very possible to do.

hmmm.. not what ive been told by numerous people ive asked loads of people if you can straighten them, every time the answers allways been no.
do they use a jig and just pull it back into shape the same with cars? i would have thought the frame would just snap if you tried to straighten it

From what i have seen its in a frame using the swinging arm pivot point as the base using a pully system through the headstock and pull till straight. Yes as sickpup said some straighten some dont but it can be done wether anyone will do the job is another matter

I thought that you could straighten steel frames and aluminium alloy frames...

... However, you can't straighten aluminium alloy frames by more than a couple of degrees or they will crack.

So you're both sort of right. And wrong.

Although, looking at it... he says the headstock is pushed back. I'd be very surprised if you could straighten it.

And he also sounds like a bit of a cocksure bastard. Like most R6 owners really!
