smokey ns125r 1990

my ns125r smokes like a ***** and i dont know what to do my dealer said thats normal for a 2stroke that old but i get pulled all the time by sad coppers help please not sure where else to turn

All 2 strokes smoke when they are cold but there shouldn't be much smoke when warm.

Do a compression test to see if the rings need changing.

Are you running it on good quality 2 stroke?

If not, that could be it. Otherwise, try turning the 2 stroke pump down a little or as priller says do a compression test.

Also loads of crap builds up in the exhaust, i take mine of and put caustic soda/oven cleaner down it now and again which seems to make it run much better and less smokey. Also check that the oil pump is adjust properly as you may be burning a tad too much oil. But all 2 strokes are smokey when they are cold until they warm up.

I don't think compression test's work overly well on two strokes.

Just change the rings anyway.
