OK, so my gf is completely fucking useless when it comes to money and has managed to spunk £250 of our bills money this month (even though she works in an accounts department).

So we are having to sell stuff and quick.

18 months ago when I got my brand new phone on contract I got given a free photo printer with it as well.
https://www.livingroom.org.au/photolog/canon-selphy-CP720.JPG
It's still brand new and has 1 free cartridge plus 5 sheets of photo paper.

My first instinct was Ebay it, but I need the money sooner than that. So I thought about taking it to CEX or similar for quick cash (for those of you who don't know, it's like GAME only it buys and sells electrical goods as well).

The problem with the quick cash issue is that they'll give me only pittance compared to what I could get from Ebay, but the bills aren't going to wait for an item to sell.

Has anyone got any advice, I hate swings and roundabouts.

Sadly I lost all my contacts from the trafficking world

Trouble is, it's time constraints really, I need that quick sell, tis why I thought about taking it to CEX but I know I won't be get as much money for it. I'm thinking I could probly get £60 of Ebay *looks hopeful*

eBay with a realistic Buy It Now + PayPal; sure you'll pay fees, but you'll get more than cash converters.

Does your girlfriend have any receipts for the stuff she spunked? She should take it all back for a refund.

If this is a common occurrence then you need to set up a second bank account that bills are paid from, figure out how much of each of your salaries need to go in it every payday and set up a standing order to transfer that amount into it.

Actually, get your GF to speak to the companies. If she doesn't like it, tough shite - maybe she'll think twice before fucking things up.

Guess Ebay probably is the best idea then.

I don't know yet, all I know is that they are all wrapped up and name tagged Shocked

It is I'm sorry to say. I did set up a seperate account a few months back for exactly that, can't remember why I didn't follow through, but I certainly will be doing that now!

Martin Lewis is a genius Thumbs Up

Tried that with me credit card last week, they didn't want to know. Even after I told them that if they carry on putting charges on there I'll never be able to pay it off (I will, but they don't need to know that).

They outright refused, I felt I'd waisted 40 mins arguin Evil or Very Mad

They probably don't want you to pay it off though. More charges added to your account = more money in the long run for them Confused

Capital One are the work of the Devil, and they're only causing a tiny bit of grief.

Well, a lass at work piped up when she heard I was selling it so I made an offer of £50, fingers crossed Very Happy

You in Scotland?

As far as I know a company has to give you some leeway <spelling? when it comes to debt even if they are to demand all your debt them they cannot demand anything that would affect your living standards, well sitting in the pub or your girlfriends shoes would not come under that!

Speak to citizens advice and secondly slap your bird for being a muppet! Me and the missus have separate bank accounts, she makes a ton more than me but I still make sure I have my share!

lol no......oh cos I said "lass" ?

Well I have payment protection on that card so if worse comes to worse than I can use that.

I'm just worried about everything else, like insurance coming out Shocked

And does anyone know which two months it is that the council don't rape you for tax? Because I'm really hoping it's this month.

Well I've told her once the lease(sp) is up in this place I'm not living with her anymore (even if we are together) and I sent her to her bank to see if there was anything they could do.

Sorry to say, but it's highly unlikely that payment protection from you credit card will help you, if you miss a months payment. It's pretty much useless.

Could you ask for a repayment holiday? Or swap credit cards? One the gf cant touch!

Also, whatever it is thats 'wrapped & tagged', unwrap and take back! I'd rather have no presents at Christmas that the baliffs at my door in January!

Unfortunately the most exspensive was Paul Weller tickets for her dad, which can't be returned.

It's all a mess at the moment, which I'm not a happy bunny about but we have a plan to sort it out.

I guess I've just got to play the child minder in future, didn't think I'd have to but hey Rolling Eyes

EDIT> future being until the end of the lease Laughing
