They're also prohibitively expensive for a mid-level sports bike.

Combine that with the average age of people who post here daily means you won't find that many people with them.

Generally if you have 5k to spend on a bike, its not going to be a 600 sports.

120mph out of 33bhp is possible but 100 - 110 is more realistic. depends how long the hill is and how strong the tail wind is lol

Triumph parts aren't as easy to find in breakers and tend to be pricey from main dealers, IME.

Of course he hasn't. He's just quoting from Fast Shite or Shiterbike or whatever the kids read these days that passes for a serious bike monthly Rolling Eyes

i have actually... al of about the 2 mins it took to test the brakes were working.

ive ridden a street tripple for a good couple of hours, and although its an exelent wheelie bike, the motor just bores me, it reminds me of the gsxr 600 but even more boreing.

i know the daytona makes about 10 - 20 bhp more but its still the same engine. I hat the look and sound of the daytona as well, the headlights and the stupid whineing noise!

How can the 675 be the second fastest 600? Wink

I'd learn to keep a simply 125 stroker road worthy before you jump on a highly strung 675, or a sports 600 for that matter.

It's ok. Nothing amazing, but all the modern 600s are pretty similar.
Doesn't sound as nice or reward quite as much being revved as the latest R6, I'd have thought.
Only a little more 'boring' engine than other recents 600s; still a bit more lively than litre bikes and bigger and a bit better than the 750 Ducatis, though they're pretty revvy.

It is quite pretty.

The 675 is a great bike IMHO.
Only problems I found where it was tiny and the riding position hurt.

Quite a revvy engine with globs of torque available.

The Street Triple is better IMHO but then I ride a Speed Triple so Im slightly biased.

Parts are easy to find, usual sources, ebay & Triumphant in wales or just pop into your local dealer, most are usually friendly.

EDIT:

what issue of fastbikes is this? i get it sent to my house every week and have never seen that printed in the year its been dropped on my door step,

its the slowest top end out of current sports 6's the r6's is the quickest

as for what its like as a bike i haven't had a go on one, but have heard nothing but praise from the people who have, the only bad iv heard is reliability on high mileage examples,

half_lyfe are you honestly saying you found the engine unrewarding and less impressive then your r6?

and as for comparing it to a il4 it has more grunt then a il4 so on the road it should have more thrill factor then the il4

its no where near as rewarding to ride as an r6!!! completley different league, the r6 is like a rabid pitbul and the gixxer/ street tripple felt like a little terrior, sure it had a bit of a bite but it wasnt full on in your face crazy like the r6 is.

the ducati therefore should be the most rewarding bike to ride on the road? shit loads of torque... nope, the engine is boring and dull to ride hard. if the handiling and brakes and looks wernt so amazing i wouldnt ever own a twin! its got loads of power the second you open it but it doesnt gain any sense of emergency. sure it fells like im more on the limit of the twins engine and it is tamer.

note im only comparing engines.

if i imagined the 3 bikes were people in a bar fight:

the ducati - someone mouths him off in a bar, immediatley picks up a bar stool and smashes it over someones head, and then proceeds to punch a few people

the street tripple - someone mouths him off - triumph gets angry and calls him a tosser, bloke then punches street tripple in face, street triplle whacks the guy in the face and then proceeds to start windmilling anyone he sees.

the r6 - guy yells at him, r6 just sits quietley in the corner, guy throws a pint glass at r6, r6 just sits there, guy kicks r6 in the bollox, r6 goes mental rips the guys head off, then proceeds to go on a killing rampage burning the bar down and then goes to a brothel to shoot some drugs get laid and do some more killing.

my main annoyance of triumph is, its a triumph, its ugly and stupid fucking annoying whineing noise! it doesnt sound like a bike. the motors not that bad, its not thrilling but it wont bore you to sleep, i just hate it as a package, and triumphs are old mans bikes. Did i mention the noise? honestley i followed ne once and all you can hear is this stupid whhhhuuuuuuuur. blah horrible bikes! theyre made of cheese as well so bits will probably start falling off them - almost as bad as ducatis.

yes i really do have nothing better to do Mr. Green

Mate of mine purchased the 995i a good few months back and he is still utterly amased by it (I'm more amased that he got the train up to Scotland to ride it back Shocked and we are S.E. London)

2 of my brothers friends have the 675 and both think the bikes are great machines.

It may just depend on who you talk to and their own experiences with the bikes.

Have a sit on one in a dealer before you even think about wanting one, at slightly over 6 foot I couldn't get comfortable on one at all.

I agree with Half_Lyfe, and after my Daytona 600, I'll honestly never buy another Triumph again.

my point exactly

your v-twin has the grunt but loses out in top end against the triple or the 4,

i aint rode the 675 so il take your word for it half lyfe but i do find it hard to believe the r6's is better + looks wise saying its ugly its a joke. its better looking then half of the new bikes that have come out in its class
