Hiya,

Got a bit of a strange problem. Over the past few days I've noticed that when I have the clutch digengaged, then engine sounds very round, I can feel low down vibrations through the pegs and there's a slight noise. I have recently replaced the rear sprocket and chain, but was unable to get the from one off using my (humble) too kit, but its due to be replaced next week. When the bike is in gear, it sounds fine, even when I'm off the throttle, so I think it must be somewhere in the gearing/clutch (expensive?)

Anyone have any ideas? Question Idea

The bike is a Kawasaki ER5 1998 (A2)

they all sound like that with clutch in

I think it's probably just the fact that the friction plates have nothing pressing against them so they rattle

if it goes away as soon as you let the clutch out I wouldn't worry about it

it could be worse

you could have a Ducrappi

Wise man say: If noise is slight its nothing to worry about.

Famous engineer say: If engine or major component is about to go, then you KNOW about it.

I say: What Mr C said! Very Happy

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Well, sadly that noise is the least of my worries...

Went to ride from Stevenage to Dartford, felt the bike was v unstable at any speed. I know the bearings are on their way out (thought it was them), so spent all of sunday gonig from Stevenage to Maidstone to get all the bearings (only parts place open I could find!) Then to head home on rail replacement bus services th Dartford (*grief*)... Then to top it all off, get a call from my mate in Stevenage, I have at least 1 nail in the tyre, and its flat! Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad Crying or Very sad

It's a brand new fookin' tyre!

If its not in the sidewall, consider getting one of the repair kits and using that opposed to buying a new tyre.
