As above...

Is this normal? Just got the bike, totally different to what I'm used to so its a new learning curve.

Never needed the choke on my TDM, seems you do with a single like this which is fine.

Start up with the choke full on, leave it for a minute or two. Set off, choke full on still, then set it to half after a slow minute or two. It coughs, splutters and dies so I turn the choke off. All seems well until I go to pull away from traffic lights (for example) at which point the clutch goes all digital. Its either on or off, its really pretty violent. After another minute or two it settles down but I'm always on edge with it now. (Also look like a bit of a twat on an orange bike kangaroo'ing up one of Edinburgh's busiest roads... Rolling Eyes )

Is this normal or is there something I can do, (let it warm up or leave the choke half on for a bit longer??)

Thanks in advance.

Thumbs Up

Some bikes need choke, some don't regardless of number of cylinders.

Thanks to Fuel Injection, my LC4 is pretty good in such regards.

Not sure about the clutch issue; worth getting it apart and having a look, I'd have thought. Obviously something is changing as the bike warms up; wondering if something's a bit worn, but comes in ok as it expands when getting hotter.
Letting it warm up more would seem to be an obvious solution in the short term Smile.

Maybe get a new clutch cable, or oil the one you have and make sure it's adjusted correctly.

I take it that it is a wet clutch? is the oil the right grade/ level or is it old?
