How many people here are out of action currently because of a bike accident?

I'm one and might be back to work before christmas and I know there's more of you out there. I'm curious to see how dangerous bikes really are. Thinking

I voted 'injured' because my ankle / knee is still giving me trouble, even though my accident was last January.

Thumbs Down

Side note: Bikes aren't dangerous. Myopic fecking newbie Fiesta drivers who don't look before entering roundabouts are dangerous...

Hey, I'm a newbie fiesta driver! Very Happy

I've had it 4 months and clocked up grand total of 600 miles, which is just 5 trips to see the ladyfriend in hackney.

Now now, lets not generalise all fiesta drivers. I'm a lovely driver, and considerate and patient to bikers. Very Happy

I said yes, even though my accident was 10 years ago tomorrow. And that is because when it is cold and damp like it has been I don't ride, because my knackered bits hurt like hell, and it's much better, more comfortable and warmer in the car.

I crashed on monday. I'm only really out of action because - bandit has a hole in the engine now and is missing bits and has no oil in it Very Happy.

Kmx 200 has no fuel tap (at the moment - picked up today) but i wouldn't commute on that anyway

the RS50 in my back garden has no tax, no mot, isn't registed in my name and doesn't run at the moment

i don't really have space for many more bikts Rolling Eyes. Gotta find something cheap and local though, if i could find a cheap 2 stroke (rxs/k100) i would keep it for ever though next to the kmx Smile.

My leg is still giving me problems, nothing major but it keeps swelling up when I'm wearing my boots and I start to get pins and needles. Hoping it will clear up once the bone has finished healing and my muscles are back to full strength.

Just got to be extra careful when carrying an injury I suppose.

The thing that always put me off riding without gear was when someone (on here i think) explained how they got the muck out of the cuts and grazes - I think it went along the lines of iodine and a scouring pad without anaesthetic... Don't fancy that idea too much!

Still recovering after breaking my foot last year (13 months) slight swelling at the end of each day. Aches almost constantly, feels hot/cold alternately, and my ankle which was a bit squashed needs almost daily articulation so I can get moving. Oh and I need to elevate it most afternoons and evenings. Still mustn't grumble, worse things 'appen at sea. Neutral

No, I've luckily recovered from a couple of weekends ago. Skinned a knuckle when whipping the plug out my bike, bloody cooling fins. I'm man enough to continue riding through the worst though.

The stats were looking alarming as if a quarter of bcfers were currently unable to ride due to accidents, but it seems its a quarter are nursing injuries from accidents a while back.

Even so, that does seem quite a lot, even more reason to be careful.

Two years ago I had a bit of tendon damage, after someone turned right across my path without looking but its cleared up fine.
