been looking round for insurance quotes as my current insurer is taking the micheal with there renewal quote(which is double what i can find elsewhere), i came across two companies that gave a decent quote, and for the first time i can afford TPFT yipee Very Happy now they both guarantee to beat any previous quotes i have had, so my question is whats to stop me playing these two off each other indefinately??

cheers

Nothing to stop you but they will both stop at some point. Some will also give a best offer on the basis that you provide proof of the other quote to ensure it is on a like-for-like basis.

Usually they just offer to beat renewal quotes.
But still, you can just get them to keep beating each other's quotes until one gives up (I usually start by knocking a chunk of my first quote for the second place anyway and see what they say.)

Carole Nash did this with me recently - I phoned them up and told them they were taking the piss and all of a sudden it was a damn sight cheaper.

Give yours a ring and have a moan - there is a very good chance indeed that they will re-quote you a much better price.

but if they both say they "guarantee" to beat any other quote, how can they not?.
i know obviously they will have thought of this but how can they not give a lower quote?

due to my shady past resulting in a not so clean licence, i tend to end up with specialist insurers through comparison sites mainly as bennets for one will not touch me with a 10 foot stick along with a few others i cant remember the names of.
