My engine management light has just come on, the bike seems fine (revs) but the clock normally has some problems. It get wet and mists up inside and some of the display figures go. Earlier it totally died so the actual display isnt showing anything atm, the engine light is dim but sometimes switches off and on. Some of the other lights are on very dimly.

Is this just my clocks fucked or is the engine light actually on?

Red light - beware of ignoring even briefly
Yellow light - you can probably carry on for now but get it checked out soon.

If you are seeing a red oil pressure light it could be the sender or a damp induced slight short but if it is an oil pressure problem engine seizure will likely result soon after.
Sometimes the oil pressure detector (sender) is quite exposed and accumulates salty road muck - if you can find it clean it off and hope the light goes out.

i agree with stevekingchef

i think its a problem with the battery not charging, and the warning light is letting you know

you can either get the bike fixed so it does charge the battery, or keep taking it out of the bike and charging it on a home charger like an optimate for the time being

it could be the rectifier or the alternator coils, or it could be the battery
