Matthie, this time you really have fucked up... I'm going to leave it to the masses on this one Evil or Very Mad

I think that everyone who opens this thread should read it through, as I think everyone has a right to know what effects us as a community...
I feel like a cunt for sharing something I was told in confidence but theres no way this can be allowed to be kept quiet.

Ok well I had a nice in depth converstaion with Matthie on MSN earlier today and basically we talked about everything from working on bikes to the future,
bulletcams, riding like cunts and outlooks on life... I thought fair enough, sound kid.
Then about an hour ago now he started talking about how he's ordered a 4KAm bullet cam.

I'm sure quite a number of people are aware of the fact that he has been riding an FZ750 illegally,
but I'm afraid it only gets worse.
I've skipped own a lengthy descussion to where it starts to get relevant.

Now Matthie I hate to go back on my word and generally like to let people get on with they're own things,
I'm no model citizen but I'm totally diaspointed in your attitude...
I'm not apologising to you for sharing this as to be fair you deserve it for what you have done
and I hope it will have a positive effect on how you think about these things in the future Karma
I don't know what else to do.
Sad

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Matt: In the future, when i have spare cash lying around i will kit my bike out with a faring camera,
speedo cam and rear cam
get some police chases Wink

Me: just think if they're going twice as fast as the other vehicles on the road then they're doing atleast double the speed limit,
thats for sure

lol I take it you have'nt rattled the feathers of the law yet

Matt: of cors i have lmao
i got let off with failure to stop on my 50 lmao

Me: why did'nt you notice them?

Matt: i had nice chavy angel eyes on my bike
we were cruising around tonw
and this copper on foot tried to pull me
so fecked off
got chased by a car about 5 mins later lol
just pulled over pretty quickly tho lol
not a chance on a 50
haha
been past coppers on the 750 doing 100+
not been chased yet

Me: As a general rule of thumb I don't think allot of marked cars will, I play them up all the time.
Just keep in mind though they only need a glimpse of your plate and your fucked

Matt: im going to tell you this
but dont go round telling everyone lol
im not proud of this

Me: I'm stchum

Matt: my bikes a ringer lol

Me: a ringer as in?

Matt: copied plate off a bike thats the same

Me: how... why?

Matt: do you know how old i am?

Me: not quite

Matt: 16 lol

Me: I knew you were'nt legal
but I mean did you copy the plate or what?

Matt: auto trader
searched my bike
found one
check it was insured
got the plate made up off ebay
£10
whack that on there
anpr shows it as insured, moted and taxed

Me: see thats why I allways mask my plates

Matt: yeah
u shud do

Me: That ain't right though, I dunno about how much thought you've put into this,
but any trouble you could potentially get yourself into, will only rebound onto the owner of that actual plate,
which they don't deserve... and would be a fuck load of undue stress on them

Matt: i know
as i said
im not proud of it
i dont think its cool or anything
right cuntish thing to do
but its all i can do
i never get speeding tickets

Me: It ain't really on though, I'm telling you this and I've been convicted for aggrevated burglary...
But I'd rather ride without a plate at all than run the risk of putting someone completely innocent into MAJOR trouble for no reason than my own personal gains

I mean obviously its fun but you don't need to do it,
It is'nt essential and it is'nt something that you can really justify in any way, you could cuase someone a world of grief...
You say its a cuntish thing to do, seriously your best option would be to destroy the plate before it gets any one into trouble
and that ofcourse could include you

Matt: yeah it could
i understand what your saying, but they can prove it wasnt them

Me: That ain't the point though, how would you feel if you were getting on with your day to day life,
probably stressed enough as it is, working hard and supporting a family when you suddenly have the bike confiscated etc,
court summons and long legal battles/ interviews that could go on for a year or more
it could destroy somebodies life, it ain't just a luagh.

Matt: I know

Me: So what you doing it for then? I know what we talked about earlier with the selfish/ callous riding attitude,
we're both guilty of that... But this is something completely different, I don't knwohow to tell you how unacceptable that is... ffs its actually got me angry now

Matt: sorry you feel that way mate, but theres nothing i can do, i shouldnt have said anything
what else can I run it on? I will have to run from every copper I see

Me: Thats bullshit excuses
You should'nt be riding that bike, enough people would hang you by your balls for that alone,
I don't care becuase its nobodies business except yours and the powers who be, unless you crash it and kill someone...but I don't even wanna go there.

What bothers me is your lack of respect for the fact that you could devastate an innocent life for absoloutly no reason whatsoever.
I fucking hope to hell that you are baiting me

Matt: i understand everything that you have said
im going to get a plate made up
with
FZ 750
for my illegal shit
but sorry mate the other plates staying on there for another 2 months untill i pass
i wont speed on it
wont do stupid shit, cos what you have said has really effected me

Me: Think about that
Pucker up buttercup!

I can post the two full unedited logs upon request if you feel the need to gain a wider perspective on this.
Nothing more to say on the subject at this current moment in time as I want soem cereal and some sleep. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

You're certainly somewhat of a tosser for advertising it thusly after saying explicitly you'd "keep schtum".

As far as what he's saying goes, classic mid teen behaviour. No sense of personal responsibility or consequence (seemingly more and more people are getting stuck at this age though). Simply a blind desire for instant gratification of his urges and a certain crude cunning in his attempt to manipulate the percieved enemy into following a false trail.
Robert Heinlein wrote:
I have long suspected that the male of our species, in most cases, should be raised in a barrel and fed through the bung-hole. Then, at age eighteen, a solemn decision can be made: whether to take him out of the barrel, or to drive in the bung.

If it's not internet bravado or trolling then he is indeed acting like a pillock, and quite maliciously at that. I admit freely that I was never exactly a pillar of the community in my youth, but at no time have I ever stooped to cloning a plate with the express purpose of laying a false trail to someone else. A binliner and some gaffa tape, yes but landing the police response to your misdemeanours on someone elses doorstep is singularly nasty. One of those moments when I do indeed hope karma bites back.

It does amuse me on some levels though, so much for the cameraderie amongst bikers.

And...?

Granted its a very cuntish thing to do, it could seriously fuck someones life up and land him in serious trouble but i think you'll find that if you want to do something about it BCF is not the place to go, its just asking for handbags and a flame war, after all nobody likes a tell tale.

Also @ matthie, besides seriously fucking somebody elses life up do you realise how much shit that will get you in when you do get caught. The second the police find out that the original bike has a clone they'll put a warning on thier ANPR system to pull your bike over the second they see it, this isnt really a problem for the original bikes owner as he can proove his bike is what it is as the VIN number and plate will match up, yours, however, will not.
Id also point out that they wont give up on a chase so easily when they know for a fact the bikes a clone.

If he really has gone past coppers at 100 with the false plate on, its quite possible that the real plate owner has now lost his license and cant prove it wasnt him.

Someone nicked a number plate off my bike recently probably to do similar. I've informed the police, but dont really know what I'd do if I get loads of speeding fines as a result.

Expect flaming there Mac, I will leave the debate to others who care about the ethics of posting the conversation.

I was, however pleased to read your responsible comments regarding the consequences of his actions, you have gone up in my estimation somewhat from that. Thumbs Up

Whether you care about that is something else!

Mattie, that is a low down dirty trick. You should copy a police car's plate - since AFAIK ANPR doesn't display the type of vehicle it checks - just the fact that it is insured etc.

That would have been ok, since there is no real 'victim', but to take a total stranger's plate number is scummy.

Riding illegaly is kinda by the by. Personally I feel that you could ride like a twat and kill someone when illegal or not, but fucking over a total stranger is not really on.

Actualy a bit off topic here but AFAIK police cars are not insured since the risk is too high, in the "unlikely" event that a police car causes an accident i think you have to take it through court to claim anything.

I'll double check tommorow but im sure im right with that

Hi

Riding a 750 at 100mph+, and often enough to regularly go past police cars doing it, with stuff all experience is likely to land up with a fairly nasty result. Bluntly probably just a matter of time until there is a large accident, and the riding without a licence / insurance / false plates / attempting to pervert the course of justice will ome out. At which point don't expect to have a licence for a good few years, and do expect the police to lie in wait at the end of your road occasionally to catch you out if you do decide to ride / drive. And when you finally do get a licence expect the insurance to be unaffordable.

If some poor sod is being chased by the police due to this then it gets worse. Fair chance that they will not be able to prove it wasn't them. And a fair chance that they will try and the court will not believe them and just hit them with a higher fine, more points and costs.

All the best

Keith

I entirely agree with all of the above posts made so far, and I feel a bit better about postin this now as I think it was the right thing to do.
I hate to betray peoples trust and have never done it before in such a way but I feel his was entirely nescercerry, I myself as a biker feel betrayed.

I don't dislike Matthie and I've made similar mistakes in the past, but I've allways been totally against the targetting of the inocent as I think it's disgusting.
My only real aim to this thread is that prehaps Matthie will see how strongly we all feel against this and might be enouh to make him change his ways Karma .

I very much doubt anyone here will grass you in for this Matt but I think that it would be a good time for you to end it without anyone getting hurt Neutral

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

By all means ride around on a bike you're not licensed for, that's up to you. By all means run from the police all the time, that's up to you. But take some other poor sods number plate off your bike!!!

If you're not going to do that, at least have another look through Bike Trader and find an FZ750 that's at the other end of the country, to give the owner a better chance of being able to get out of whatever shit you're causing them.

Consider if what you're doing is actually worth it. Yeah its fun and you're getting to be going around on a 750 riding without having to be bothered about the laws of the road, but if nothing else it's a really cuntish thing to do. How long til you're 17? Chances are you'll get away with it unless you crash badly, 16 year olds have a habit of crashing 50cc peds cos of inexperience so I wouldn't want to bet on you not crashing the 750.

Granted a lot of do stuff illegally on bikes, speed, small plate, wheelies etc. and that's our fault and it's on our heads if/when we get caught.

But Matthie is putting somebody else's licence at risk by "ringing" his bike, this could lead to the innocent bloke losing his licence, his job may depend on his licence, and then it snowalls.

The first thing that poor git who's had his plate cloned will hear about it is a Notice of Intended Prosecution.

In the case of my friend, it was a court summons for driving dangerously and leaving the scene of an accident. The following weeks were not only incredibly stressful but the process of proving that neither him nor his car were involved in the accident was very time consuming.

Fortunately he had been in Cornwall on the day of the accident and had actually purchased items with his bank card and
(unusually) kept the receipts which were forwarded as evidence. If he'd just been at home he wouldn't have been able to defend himself and would, potentially, have lost his licence - and therefore his job, and as such his home.

*shakes head*
Ditch the plate. Don't destroy someone's life.

If you're going to clone a plate on your bike, use a car one.

ANPR just reads the plate and alerts the driver if it appears to have no tax or insurance. It can't differentiate what the vehicle is.

At least then if someone gets sent a speeding fine they didn't do, they can send off for the picture and it will be immediately apparent that it is a motorbike in the picture and not a car.

Happened to a guy up here (Cumbria). He got a fine through for not paying London conjestion charge. Luckily, the vehicle in question was an army surplus, amphibious armoured personell carrier so it was quite easy to establish that it had in fact NOT been driving round Central London.

Actualy a bit off topic here but AFAIK police cars are not insured since the risk is too high,

I think they're insured on a bond, rather than through any insurance company as such. So any claims are paid out of the coffers of the police themselves.

I wonder how many people have told the police about this Laughing

Unlucky mate, sooner or later you will feel the fist of law or the fist of the person who owns the bike.
