Okay, this is for all those people who decided to do their A2 test for some or the other reason.

You're also missing a:

'Not got restrictors, bike most likely under 33bhp anyway and not been pulled!'

Not to mention all those people still currently within their restriction periods!

As Chris says you are missing the "had restriction and was checked"

Seems like a pretty irresponsible poll with loaded answers which MAY encourage people to ride illegaly. Rolling Eyes

....But you're not.

Bit of a crap poll really as no one that is currently in those 2 years can vote on it.

As said look for the old thread with these stats in.

IIRC It was about 75% of people rode without them and only a handful got caught.

One or maybe two people have been done for it, and they tend to be the ones who admit at the roadside that their bike isn't restricted.

The chances of getting away with it are pretty close to 100%. The police on the whole know fuck all about 33bhp laws.

As had been said your poll is also loaded.

And there's no option for kep them in for x time then removed them early.

Out of interest, If i get pulled and questioned as to whether my bike is 33bhp and i tell them that it is knowing full well that its not what happens next? Do they sieze the bike on the spot to check or do they book an appointment in the future (therefore allowing a few days to get something sorted?)

Not that my bikes actualy more than 33bhp officer Wink Laughing

Depends. They can just cease your bike at the side of the road, or they make an appointment.

I'm within the 2 years and can't vote, because I'm taking my kit out early (not to be illegal, I want to take my accelerated access so I don't have to ride illegally).

Vote: Had the kit fitted but removed early

My restriction runs out in July, it seems only recently that I took off my L-plates.

I voted for the first one, *fingers crossed* Very Happy

Your also forgetting that it depends on how often you ride, more you ride means more chance of getting pulled.

I might have taken my restrictors out sayyyyy 2 months after getting them put in, my bikes on the DVLA database as restricted, so the only way theyll find out is to take the bike, and most of things that i might illegally do, warrant points, not seizure as my bikes completely road legal bar the restrictors.

I dont think theyd have any grounds to seize it on tbh... Unless someone knows more about this?

this thread has been done to death. seriously, realistically the only time you are likely to have the restriction questioned is after an accident, particulary a major accident where insurance companies are involved. then it is highly likely to be checked. and depending on what happens the police might impound the bike at the scene therefore you dont have a chance to put them back in before they check it. not worth the risk imo. ive got 12 months left on mine, and my restrictor is an ecu jobby - pop the seat, swap the chip... 5 mins and done. it is tempting but knowing my luck i know what would happen....

im coming to the end of my restriction period now, i got a garage to "fit" some restrictors, and do me the cert, so iv been riding a full power nc30 for 2 years, iv been pulled twice and no one has ever mentioned the restriction to me.

id say if you go get them fitted, ride with them for as long as you want to get used to having power on tap then when you feel confident, wack em out.

And what database is this?

To the DVLA your bike is a normal full powered bike, they don't keep tabs on if it is restricted or not. The F1 international certificate is worthless, you could make your own one up and it would be just as valid as the one F1 hand out.

I am pretty sure if the police suspect you are riding a bike without the restriction kit in then they can seize your bike and they will take it to a dyno place and see how much power it is putting out.
