From the 1st of november small plates we're made illegal, and companies like MAL plates don't do them anymore.

Game Over i'm afraid.

Hi

Likely that any show plates you want now will have to be ordered from outside GB (not sure if the new rules apply to Northern Ireland).

All the best

I'd used malplates a few times before. I didn't go for 'marsbar' plates or something you couldn't read unless you where touching it... Obviously still a small plate and illegal but never had any trouble with Judge Dredd Wink

hi,
even up here in Scotland, where until 1st nov, you didnt even have to show v5 or any i.d to buy any size numberplate, has been hit with this new law.
this morning i was speaking to the guy at local market who used to do the show plates & he says all plate makers have to apply for a licence now.
& the police/authorities have numerous rules re. size etc. & contravening these laws will mean automatic revoking of licence & up to £5000 fine!
reckons hes lost 50% of his business overnight (he also does keycutting).
even the border has be a specific size, so you cant even trim the edges, all do to with anpr/speed cameras, seemingly.
even if the letters are correct size & font, plate has to be exact!
not allowed slogans etc only uk/gb/eu emblems.
so buy your show plates while you can!
cheers,
GAZ
