Probably take a bit less than 3 hours I guess.
The only things you need for a long journey really are the essentials i.e. a satsuma, 3 feet of stout rope, a leather penis holster and plenty of lubricant
Alternatively...just think about the worst case scenario which is you breaking down in the middle of nowhere. In which case warm, waterproof clothes (which you'll already have on) and fags if you smoke The main thing is your phone and an RAC/AA card and if you don't have that maybe taxi numbers for the largest places you'll be near if you get really stuck? If you give your bike a quick checkover there's no reason you'll have any problems, it ain't that far! ____________________ ZX6R + CBR600RR |

about 90 miles from herts to southampton on my cbr125 took 3ish hours, though on a journey that long getting lost is easy especially at night (i dont think i ever got that trip right ever haha) so get a map to take. worth checking the actual map of the route as the aa one i got was a ridic way to go. wear good trousers, i wore a pair of jeans over my draggin ones to prevent frostbitten balls.
toolkit or an aa/rac card , check oil/lube chain/brake fluid/tyres etc before setting out, and keep an eye on fuel. petrol station toilets and mars bars are your friend.
also be prepared to walk like john wayne for a while after getting there...
good luck with the mini adventure dude |

Forgot to mention money too
You pass right by me here in Bedford, when are you actually going? I suppose I could pm you my number so if you have a problem round here I could come and rescue you (this is how confident I am that you won't have a problem ) No good if you mean tonight though as I've been drinking so can't ride the bike ____________________ ZX6R + CBR600RR |

Any other advice wouldn't go amiss either.
All the best,

Plan a couple of stop-off points beforehand if you can. When I was doing a non-motorway 100 mile journey on my 125 I picked two nice market towns - parking space in centre, shops and cafes/pubs.
Good to know how long you've got till you can rest with a fag/brew and have a piss.
Beats waiting till ya fucking knackered and hurriedly stopping in some dodgy layby in the middle of nowhere (although that can be cool to do in summer of course!)
Bottle of water essential, perhaps a few paracetamol in case you get a concentration headache. Mars bar, banana. Tissues for runny nose after an hours windblast through your visor vents!!!
Enjoy the scenic route
Edit: just seen you're riding at night!! In that case, same as above, make sure you're rested, hydrated and fed before you set off.
Hi-vis vest an idea and DEFO a good torch/couple of glow sticks.
I've broken down at night on a pitch black bypass before, once my battery flattened from keeping my lights on (to make bike visible of side of the road) I felt quite vunerable to the traffic! ____________________ CBR125|||GSXR400|||CBR400|||CBR400|||CB250RS|||GSXR750|||CB250RS

What the feck are you lot on? I took less on a 1500 mile trip.
Take money and waterproofs. Job done. Hardly circumnavigating teh globe are we? ____________________ NSR125RR - ZXR750H1 - ZX9R E1 - GSF600S - GSF600SK3 - VFR400-NC30 - SV1000N - ST1100-R - CBR900RR-R - GSF1200SK5 - GSF600SK1 - VFR1200FA - GSXR1000K2 - ZZR1400 D8F

Couldn't get lost if you tried.
