I can not get my head round heated grips, it is just me but I don't like the idea and don't want something permanently on my bike that I am only going to use a dozen times a year.

However despite two good pairs of gloves (winter outers and silk liners) and hand guards I have to admit on longer runs in cold (like we are due this weekend) conditions my fingers get a bit cold.

So an answer may be Heated Gloves, any thoughts, advice, recommendations?

I've had a pair for the last 11 years, only use them about 4 weeks of the year and they're feckin marvellous, along with my leccy vest which I use unplugged through most of the winter as it's quite warm on it's own.

When they are all switched on it's like riding to work in front of a roaring log fire. Used the vest riding 50 miles home tonight, shoulda dug the gloves out of my bag though cos my hands were frozen by the last 20 miles.

My vest and gloves are made by a company called Widder, but I don't think they have a UK agent at the moment, so you'll have to search out alternative brands if you want some.

Was thinking about this concept only the other day. Decided that it was just another one of my silly ideas - had no idea such a thing existed! Off for a google Smile

Keeping your body (torso) warm also really helps keeping the extremities warm too.

I quite like my heated grips and use them in summer when I have light summer gloves on and it starts throwing it down. Stop your hands getting cold then.
