https://heat4jackets.com/index.html

Looks pretty good for less than £23 and has had some positive reviews.

If I can convince someone to do the sewing I might give it a go Wink

Found this as well.

From what I can remember from last year the maplins waistcoats had poor battery life and didn't actually generate that much heat.

Still, your welcome to try for yourself.

This was one of the reviews.

Quote:
Hi everyone well today i tried out the Vest for real . I charged my Batterys overnight , It was cold today but not bitterly cold. I put the Vest against the skin with a fleece over it and my Camo gear . The heat that is generated would be best described as Body heat NOT Heated Grips toasty . Bearing in mind the MAX time of 1 hour to run the Vest at a time , I thought it would be quite warm . To turn off the Vest you either Unzip it or poke your hands in from underneath to get to the Battery boxes one on each side in inner pockets .By the time you have done this any heat that you have built up has now blown away. Also if the vest is a tight fit " Built for a skinny fit "on you , You run the risk of turning off one or both batteries with the tiny slide switches. I can say a cheap set of Thermals from your local Supermarket "Never mind good quality" expensive one,s would be by far a better inVESTment. I would give this Vest 1 out of 10 .If it was well below the minus mark you might notice the heat a bit better BUT if it is that bad you will most likely not be on the bike. Avoid like the Plague .

Would have thought it would work better over something like a t-shirt rather than next to skin.....

Rather than waste all this money on gadgets, simply get a thin quilted lining to go under your jacket Thumbs Up

The art is to have a few thin loose fitting layers to build up air gaps which are heated by your body. So long as your outer layer is wind proof. You should retain the heat Thumbs Up
Once you get a tight fit you lose any benefit. Thumbs Down
