Can anyone point me towards a better mobile contract?

Roughly 2 years ago my father got a contract with 3 Mobile which consisted of a nice Sony Erricson and a contract of 500 minutes for £15 a month.

The contract was 18 months long and after the contract period expired I phoned 3 Mobile on behalf of my dad to try and sort out a reasonable price for a contract with an extra 100 minutes.

After wasting a collosal amount of time speaking to an Indian guy who clearly wasn't actually in England but rather one of those call centres in India, who was struggling to string together a sentence of fluent English I was told that they couldn't do this for me and kept trying to push me to buy a far worse contract than we already have with 3.

So, basically I'm looking for a contract with 600 minutes for not much more than £15. He doesn't care about texts nor does he about whether he gets a freebie phone. Any advice/ links would be greatly appreciated.

Why does he need a free phone? he already has one.

Look for a sim only deal and unlock the phone.

You've probably already tried them but Orange, t-mobile and Vodaphone do sim only for £20, 600 minutes and unlimited texts.

Avoid orange like the plague, me and my uncle have had nothing but problems with them pretty much from the start of our contracts. When I took mine out I was told by the sales guy in the orange store that he could give me their £35 dolphin package (unlimited texts and 600 mins) for £24.01 which I thought great as it allowed me to get a 'free' flashy phone on top of that too. Then came my first bill of £55...... so went back to the store and he looked rather confused by it and said it's probably just an error and to see what happens when I get my next bill. £37 later I decided enough was enough and wanted to know what was going on. He clicked away at his computer and said that he would get it sorted out. Now for the last few months I have had bills ranging from £25-£49 and this is with no extra bundles like the stupid £5 internet one they try to clobber you with as soon as you take out a contract and also without using any mms, internet, more mins than my allocated free ones etc). Last week I phoned their customer support as they now owe me well over £200 from being over charged and they were trying to tell me that I should lower my package to get my bill to what it should be (which would in turn lose me 400 of my minutes which I use and also the fact I should only be paying £24 anyway so why would I want to reduce my package giving me less when I should be getting charged the same price anyway?).

Either way i've now told them to stick their contract up their garry and that I wont be paying the cancellation fee and also still want the money which they owe me for not being able to stick to the contract which they gave me the thieving bastards.

If anything O2, T-Mobile and 3 seem to have a few pretty decent offers on and if you give them a call i'm sure they could make them even better than what you would get online too.

o2, didn't have any good sim only deals, seemed to only want give loads of texts and little minutes...

3, Mix & Match 500, 500 minutes or texts for £18 a month or Mix & Match 700, 700 minutes or texts for £21 a month

t-mobile, similar to o2

orange, couldn't really get anywhere near what your want

vodafone, just as bad the others

I am pretty shocked to be honest at the deals they offer. They seem to think that everyone is a texter, which doesn't help you at all.
