If nothing else it shows how the internet has changed the world we live in. In 1987 Peter Wright (a former secret agent in MI6)published a book "Spycatcher". The British govt banned its publication and it was eventually launched in Australia (causing a major diplomatic incident), copies were smuggled into the UK from Australia and were much sought after over here.
In 1972 Stanley Kubrick banned the showing and distribution of his film "A clockwork orange" in the UK after a couple of copycat murders, it has only been available over here since his death.
Neither of these or many more acts of censorship ( lady Chatterley, Last Exit to Brooklyn etc) are no longer possible in the internet age unless we follow the Chinese model.

Yes but you're a pretty sad bastard if you go in for vigilantism really.

Most of the 'Paedo' and similar vigilantes aren't much better than the targets themselves.

That's ridiculous. As far a I'm concerned they gave away their human rights when they murdered the kid.

Agreed, I did not post to advocate revenge but to show the obsolescence of gagging orders.

Depending which documentries you watch Kubrick banned Clock work because of the murders others say because it was a sh1t film and he knew it. But they all (the ones I've seen) say he always wanted it released after his death.

Death's too good for any of them, doing bird and then living the rest of their sorry lives with the cloud hanging over them is a far better fate.

The ban was only in the UK, I had a Dutch version durring the period of censorship. It was a great film IMHO.
