How about it?

Much in the same way of the Spill Counter, what do people think of a Police Encounter Counter?

Name your encounter, what it was for, what happened and whether you got away with it or not...

Good idea but we must some how keep it low key , so it can't be used by NIMBY / Mary white house / Saftey Nazi types who use it as evidence of how bikers is bad...

I'm guessing it counts if you didn't speak to the Police?

As in, you didn't hear them for you to pull over Shifty

i'll add mine for all of my limited bike history...

1: pulled for no rear L plate... said it blew off, nowt happened about it.

2: pulled for no rear L plate, said it blew off, nowt happened about it.

3: pulled for rear brake light blowing its bulb at night, went over the bike with a fine tooth comb... tried to do me for a soggy tax disk until i pointed out the barcode was intact... got off on the wrong foot with these ones, as when i was asked ''why do you think we've pulled you over'' i gave the reply ''well im guessing it isnt because i have a nice arse''.

4: pulled over for doing about 60 in a 30, guy turned out to be decent, nowt happened about it.

5: pulled over for being too noisey on the GSXR400 thing, asked about restriction, ''it should be'' said i... he agreed. nowt happened about it. got shown a load of gorey pics of what happens to people who dont wear gloves too. nowt happened about it.

6: got the GSXR600, got pulled over and searched on suspicion of posession OF A FIREARM, after a night of backfiring at students. nowt happened about it (as we didnt have guns)

7: flipped bike at lights, ended up in hospital etc, was out the night before, amazed i was totally clear when i was breathalised...
nowt happened about it, just got the paperwork through saying ''the matter will not be persued'' etc.

more TBC

I was stalked by a police car earlier I think, I was giving my mate a lift back from the train station, he was only wearing a hoodie as I don't have a spare jacket, we stopped so he could buy something to eat from a local shop, police car parks just up the road from me. We go in and they haven't got any bread so we leave quickly and I ride down a short cut I know to the next super market. As we ride down the side road I notice the police car fire up. We get to tescos we go in and get the stuff, as we get to the bike I notice the police car again parked behind me. As we get to my bike my mate tears his bag open (dumb ass Rolling Eyes) so we wait for a few minutes well he tries squeeze everything into his back pack. As we are there a real banger of a car goes past and the police car fires up and follows it.

I'm not sure if he was actually following me, just found it odd how he pulled up behind my bike and didn't get out just sat and watched us. Was kinda worried he might pull me over to ask about restrictions or similar, but nothing.

Apart from that I've never been caught doing anything wrong, but then I come from an area where the police station is open 10-3 Laughing.

1. Pulled with a mate doing about 50 in a 30 on the Gpr late at night. The pull was because they thought I didn't have a L plate on the back (bored basically). Nothing.

2. Pulled after failure to stop for a police officer in town who tried to pull me because I had blue angle eyes on. Got away with failure to stop, excessive speed and displaying blue lights.

3. Had a police officer have a little chat with me after hitting the limiter while going past a night club with a long queue outside. Very Happy

1: Pulled because my rear tail light had blown and it had gotten dark on the way home...
What they didn't do is check my license etc, just told me off... I'd taken the L's off to treat my girlfriend to a ride, (this was back earlier this year before I'd passed obviously)

2: Pulled over for no apparant reason =S .. other than it was a 125 with a passenger, perfectly legal I wasn't doing anything wrong... Jeeze Rolling Eyes

Only been stopped once this year...

Had a cop pull me over for no tail light at night, I didn't realise it was out. He said it would be a good idea to get it changed and too be careful when driving the rest of the way home as I don't have any lights on at the back.

Isn't the number supposed to rise like the spill counter?

So everyone doesn't start from one.

Sort of defeats the point in a 'counter' if it starts from 1 every post. Laughing

21. got pulled for riding with a friend at 2am, again through london, apperently im a thieft suspect aswell now Laughing

22. got pulled for apperently wheelying my bike, it wasnt me it was my mate, though apperently the specialy trained traffic officers are incapable of distinguishing my GPZ500 from my mates xr125 200 yards behind me!

number 19. was a right arsehole of a copper who was out to get something, luckily he didnt get me or any of my mates for anything at all, spot of luck, it wasnt for lack of trying, he ran two of my mates cars through the police database 3 times each Rolling Eyes Laughing

23: last spring, same as Matt, pulled up and had two traffic cops come and search us for firearms.

24: wheelied past uni, and saw a T5 in the opposite lane put on the lights, hammered it up north hill (long straight wide road) up to the limiter in 3rd before having an attack of conscience and not wanting to jump a red light, and stopping. Minute later it catches up and I get a stern look I try "poor clutch control" and he shakes his head smiling.

Anyway details get phoned through and I'm let off on my way with a "don't do it again"

cops where cool both times, first lot seemed to be happy something interesting was happening, and the second bloke rode a ZX6R (with both wheels firmly on the floor I was told)

25. Pulled for doing 57 in a 40 at 5:30am on my way to work. I had overtaken a few cars and i noticed him pull out and overtake them aswell (about 100yards behind me) and catch me up, it was a fully marked T5 but couldn't see because of his badly adjusted headlights Rolling Eyes I got a rollocking and a producer and the normal 'its better to get to work in 1 piece, rather than in a body bag' malarky. Sent on my way.

26. My accident in june, i don't recall anything from leaving tesco's on my way home, apart from a short spell in A+E (i was being hung from the roof by the drip lines! or so i thought lol). They came to see me when i was on the orthopaedic ward just to ask me what happened. I said i don't recall anything, and the usual coppers didn't believe me but oh well. Got some details on how to contact my dad so they could see my documents.

Other than that it is a few 'group' pulling overs where we were 'breaching the peace' or something daft, we were only hooning around Laughing Then i've had a few mini accidents in the past couple of years but only got producers, wasn't because i was doing something 'wrong' as such (as in speeding or whatnot)
