I once forgotten to tightene the bolts fully (only did them by hand) on my bars on my first 125. Came to the end of the road and braked, almost ended up kissing the front wheel Laughing . Was a cruiser so had quite high bars.

Even when your in a rush, its better to make sure things are tightened up properly. Could be a lot worse.

Forgot to tighten up the front spindle nut on my bike once. The pinch bolts at the other side were the only thing keeping it in.

Went to undo the bolt when we took the wheel off and found it fingertight Laughing

I once went for a 100 mile jaunt with the bolts on my right rearset not even fingertight Shocked One of the rear brake master cylinder bolts fell off, but luckily the rearset ones stayed in.

not really, the seat just kind off fell down by half a foot or so and the back (obviously) locked and skidded to a halt in a remarably pointing forward manner, if I remember quickly I think I put both feet on the floor which probably helped a tad.

When I bought my zxr400, went for a hoon to see how it rode and when i got back I was looking over it. For some reason I had an urge to 'turn' a bolt on the torque arm... It didn't have a nut on it and fell straight out! Strange how I felt a need to turn it.

There have been many times were Ive 'forgotten' to do up the bolts holding exhaust baffles in, the next ride is always very entertaining.

Test run on the old z chop running a screaming eagle pipe was entertaining considering the baffle made its exist whilst on the run up a hill with a tunnel at the end.

I may have taken some mortar out of that tunnel. Laughing

Cheers

Too many times that I can't even remember. Most impressive was the typical forgetting to put sump plug back in and wondering why it was taking so much oil.

Not done anything dangerous but managed to get a kink in the rubber fuel line coming from my reserve tank to the pump on my ZXR 400. Looked fine dropping the tank on but when it was in place the bend stopped any fuel getting through after 10-20 miles of riding.

Took me fucking ages to figure out what it was Smile

hi,
done the very same thing!
couldnt figure out why it had spluttered to a stop in the middle of a roundabout.
checked sparkplug etc & then gave up & phoned the recovery guys (that i had decided to add on the policy, right at the last minute, thinking i would never use it!)
recovery van took me back home.
i realised my mistake when i lifted the tank & heard glug, glug, glug sounds.
the shame of it,
cheers,
GAZ
