 Posted: 14:56 - 23 Mar 2008 Post subject: Diamond rearsets... HELP!! |
 |
|
Erm, well I went to fit my rearsets to my bike a few weeks ago, and the brake pedal doesn't line up with the master cylinder AT ALL!
I also can't seem to find the Diamond Race Products website, even with the aid of google!
Heres some piccies:-

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I'm rushing around trying to get my bike ready for a trackday next saturday!
Cheers, Daz. ____________________ "bikes are replaceable - but a complete nutter aint." |

the sticky downy bit is at full unscrewdedness I might just have a bit more threaded bar welded onto the master cylinder.
Even still, the master cylinder isnt at the correct angle for the pedal when the pedal is in the right position, shown in the quick doodle below:-

Wouldn't have thought so, as the pedal is all shaped and curved so it fits right that way. It may be possible they aren't actually for an rvf or vfr they do fit on though!

Erm, it doesn't look like it from the picture, it appears the master cylinder is mounted to the very same bracket. ____________________ Current Bikes - Kawasaki ZX-6R (636) | BMW G650GS |

the master cylinder is on with 1 bolt, meaning the lever can pivot.
if the rearset is lowered, because of the pivot, the operating lever raises. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles. sorry to bring up this old thread, but i recently installed the same rearsets and I just thought i might contribute...
this is how i hooked up my master cylinder:

the operating lever is at a really odd angle though, and i sometimes have difficulty reaching it. ____________________ VFR400 (NC30) |

Thank you months after I ask the question I get an answer! I still havent fixed it... I'll make a bracket at work that'll make it fit or something. Stupid rearsets.

the differance if these are the same rear sets on the same bikes is the op has bolted the master to the back of the mounting bracket whereas the second pics shows it bolted to the front with the bolts going in from the back.
could be compleatly wrong though lol |
