You've overtaken?

Just thought I'd start a completely useless thread.

What I mean is, and this is probably for all the sports bike loonies out there. What have you passed that has been fairly impressive (Ferrari's and Porsche drivers who think they have the fastest thing around etc.)

TVR drivers seem to think they're fairly special but I've seen sports bike riders walk all over them! Laughing

My proudest mement was years ago, passing a tractor and trailer on my MT50. It was completely gutless for passing anything else. (And I was going slightly downhill!)

I haven't done much on the Fazer yet, but waiting for the opportunity to pass the Porsche and Ferrari brigade when I use it for a race weekend and they're stuck in traffic! Oh the joys!

Not much in the way of sports cars around here to probably a cossie.

Fasted bike is a busa, rider wouldn't go over 80 so went past him. WTF is the point in having a 180mph bike and going 80?

I seem to have this attraction to other bikers, everything I pass wants to try and race. If they want to do 80 then do 80, but dont do 100 just because I came past at 100.

Best thing I've overtaken was on sunday there riding out on the twisties on my gixxer 400 and there was a v-max doing over the ton in front of me. My mate at work goes on about how these are the best bikes ever so I had to catch up on it to see what it was like. He was bloody quick on the straights but when the corners came I just creeped closer then took him eventually coming out of a corner banked right over. V-max didn't look the best on corners though as he had to keep putting the brakes on as he went round. I was probably driving a little silly though to catch him.

Never had a proper race with a decent car really, they generally all move out the way. I've had moments with different Porches and a Ferrari when I thought "this looks promising" but then they've moved over.

Had a couple of blokes in BMW M series' thinking they were quick but they weren't/aren't.

I've mostly had Saxos, XR2's and Metros with the usual types in them trying it on, but I don't usually even bother entertaining them.

The Biggest scalp I took was probably on my RS125 on the way back from The Waterman (Bike meet in Warwick). It was a bloke on a ZX9R around the twisty B roads, he just didn't seem to be able to ride round corners.

I took a blade on my old VFR400 NC21, it was raining and he was scared! Smile I also knew the roads well, and he was trying hard but failing.

Shame really, I liked that little bike! Smile

I did a lotus elise on my 125. Bit sad for him really cus that bike struggled to 70. I came of a large roundabout and went rite past him as we went of to a duel carriageway. I smiled for the rest of my journey!

I once overtook a bunch of 600 sports riders on the motorway. I think they were doing about 90 and I was testing my bike's max speed at the time...so an indicated 150.
Otherwise then it's nice to overtake BMW M or Z3's.

Koenigsegg CC! But it was stuck slow moving traffic. As soon as we got to a straight it took off quicker than a cruise missile. I'd have one.......apart from the price, waiting list, insurance, running cost and the name(not sure how to pronounce it)

I beat a skyline round some twisties on a wait for it - moped Laughing . It was a small 2 lane road with some really tight corners and quite a few other cars about but i showed him up proper, but it was on a 125 scoot so it was pretty quick on the pick up from 30-40mph. I also over took old bill once, i was going along overtaking a line of cars and the police was one of them, they just pulled me over and lectured me but i was lucky to get away with it.

Hi,

Lots of GTI's etc off the lights.

Smart Car Roadster coming off a motorway slip road - the guy was nailing it too - thought he was cool passing all the other cars until he got a flash of my lights in his rear view - move over bitch Twisted Evil

Also past a few cruiser type bikes (I don't see how you can corner in confidence being that low to the ground! Shocked ). They are quick on the straights but easy to get them coming out of corners.

Having said that there is no f***ing chance that I'm going to take on the Triumph Rocket III!!!

Hi

The best thing I ever overtook was a convoy of tanks on the M1 late one night Laughing . They were cruising along at about 55mph (which is the supposed top speed of a Scorpian / Scimitar).

Car wise, not really sure. Was amused once when I saw the lad over the road in his Nova SR so pulls up beside him, sits there for a bit and waves hello, then carried on my way. Later found out that he was really trying and he had got a bollocking from his girlfriend. I hadn't even noticed he was trying Embarassed .

All the best

Keith

Ferrari of sorts, an old one, wasn't really concentrating on its model, I undertook it as I came off a roundabout on my restricted NSR!

regarding "proximacore's" qoute on overtaking v-max's' he's right (in a way) i own a vmax and although they are not that good in corners i think i can ride most corner's fast,if i go any faster i'll loose it.
If us vmax rider's want to lean with knees down we would buy r1's 7 fire blades,,,sorry proximacore Shocked

I still kick myself for wasting the chance ages ago to leave a Ferrari F355 spider, from a set of lights on an empty dual carrigeway on my zx6r, idiot i knw! I was real suprised that the guy wanted to race, and the way he was revving the motor he was well going for it. Instead of trying a proper fast launch, i just watched the guy go on green with loads of wheelspin, and a hint of sideways, as i pulled away behind him and went straight to 2nd gear. Once the car was about 20m ahead and still going for it i gave it some and was back on his bumper before 80mph, he didnt back off till a bit over 90, so i decided to instead. still overtook 2 miles later when he was stuck in a row of 4 cars behind a caravan! Smile

I currently have an MT50 and I have passed a few tractors and my proudest moment was passing a L driver on a two laned 30mph road (I was going flat out at 35 to pass).
