Going to be getting a tank bag for xmas but am completely bewildered by the choice out there so was hoping to get some recommendations or avoidances from you lot.

It is to go on my gsx600f. Would ideally like it to be magnetic (but effectively magnetic-dont want it dissappearing if i get a bit throttle happy!), properly waterproofed, not too bulky (mostly for longer day trips than touring) and also not to look like a butt ugly mole on my bike. Got £50 aside for it.

Cheers Question

The Oxford Sports range has done me proud - to be fair I haven't used it much and now it's stuck with the magnets to my garage door holding my spanners (as I broke my toolbox)! But when I have used it, it's been absolutely fine and dandy at motorway speeds - the only thing I would say is be sure that the bag won't obstruct your riding in any way as we tried to fit one to my friend's K7 GSXR and he found it quite restricting.
I've always found a tailpack to be the better solution, but each to their own.

I think the Oxford Sports tank bag is more than £50, but have a look on eBay, you might find one on there.

Actually been having a think and reckon you may be right about the tailpack being a better option. Will give the oxford and hein gericke stuff a look.

Cheers.

look round aldi or lidl, they may still have one in ....

i've got the aldi one and with the smaller section only on my tank it sits there comfortably up to 120mph using just the magnets...

the bigger section decides to move at around 110mph tho ...

this is on a naked slabby fighter

I picked up an Oxford Sports tankbag second-hand off eBay for around £35 can't fault it really, though I think it only came in second or third in the recent RiDE review.

Like this one: Oxford Sports Expanding Tankbag but without the zip off bum bag.

If it were up to me i would probably have spent the next 2 weeks doing research but since my GF had all the rest of her xmas presents bought and wrapped at the end of october, the fact that i still hadnt chosen all mine was really starting to stress her out so a decision had to be made! Laughing
