I am interesting in overbore my barrel. How much does it cost,do they give you the piston, rings and all the stuff? They overbore the cylinder head?Where can I find a garage in cambridgeshire.Maybe in Peterborough.

Hi

Easiest solution is a replacement big bore barrel with piston. Probably cheaper than a piston, rebore and gaskets.

All the best

How much you willing to spend?
There are some 74 cc kits that will get you a real kick if you want to lash out some cash. You should essentially get an exhaust and upjet/carb as well

Don't think so. From memory the complete barrel is cast iron (weighs a ton).

All the best

it didnt do 64 , on the clocks yeah , but just no Wink

190 quid for the engine is a bargin , defentley buy that , its so good ahving a spare engine , youll have loads of spares wich is very usefull if you own a 2 stroke 50

could be looking at around 70 mph top pushing it , dependidng on what bore kit it is , and also the gearing will have to be fiddled with

28mm on a standard 50 bore , are you mental Shocked

Reads to me that he has a 28mm carb on a standard bike already (with a non standard exhaust), and is just buring a 90c engine.

All the best

I'd be wondering if that means it just doesn't work. Confused

I'd be wary about buying a second hand motor which claims to be working without actually seeing it working/testing it.

90cc bore can put alot of stress on the bottom end of the motor and iirc you'll have to machine you cases for it to work. Whatever the case, its not really pratical if you rely on the bike to get you about. You're best of going for 70-80cc with a 19-21mm carb (dellorto phbg) and a nice exhaust system to match. These things will give you the best price paid:power gains ratio IMHO.

There's a lot of knowledge on the Aprilia forum in relation to the rs50, they should be able to advise you specifically on what setup to go for:

I know that it sounds crazy 28 mm carb on a 50 cc,but i`ve bought my bike with that carb,so no reason to change it.Btw it has 0 miles from the rebuild, the engine is working, all the bearings are alright.I forgot the name for the gearbox.when i bought the bike it did 75 mph,but after i changed the cylinder i wasn`t able to reach even 67 mph.

pick up a airsal 80cc big bore kit for £80, kill it within 2 month and buy a 125?

pay £300 for a well named kit and kill it in 4 month and get a crapper 125?

i can only asume your 16, your better off waiting a few more month and getting a bike thats actully designed to go faster than 30mph...

also a 28mm carb is to big for a 80cc never mind 50cc, 21mm carb is advised for 80cc kits... Thumbs Up

Entirely possible. Someone fitted a 28mm carb onto a YSR50.

i dont know what that is Embarassed

tuned or stock ? on a stock barrel it would just be a total waste and would be really hard to get the fueling perfect , on a ported gas guzzling barrel then hell yeah whack one on

Hi

YSR50 uses a pretty small carb as standard. There are oversize carb kits available, but nothing like 28mm kit. 24mm flat slide Mikuni kit is the biggest I know of.

But there is a video of a YSR50 on Youtube, which has had a CR500 engine fitted.

All the best

Keith

I'm just quoting a guy off the Fizzy forum, he said his mate has a YSR50 with a 28mm carb. No other details though.

hi mate... dont do it... dont tune 50's when i was 16 i blew all my money on my little derbi gpr50 (which is the am6 engine like the rs yeah?) i had metrakit 70cc bore, 21mm carb, metrakit sp undersling racing exhaust, cant remember what crank now, nice shiny one lol, better clutch metrakit foam filter. everything i could get my hands on basically... and yeah when it was working it was a little beast, but unreliable is not even the word for this bike... think i went through 2 bottom ends and countless topends untill all my money i had saved up was gone and now im left with nothing lol...

ne way you probably wont listen to me, i know i didnt when people were telling me not to do all that stuff to my 50 lol.. save your cash save up get your test done when ur 17 and buy a nice little 400 or summin
