hi i have recently installed a k+n air filter on my bike and i have upped the jetting to increas the overall power of my bike.by the way my bike is a 125 marauder, it is running fine it will do about 60 in fourth gear but when i bring it out into 5th it just dies for eg it will go back to 40mph in about 30 seconds i have talked to a lot of people about it and they dont have a clue so if anyone here has any suggestions then please let me no. aldo is the motor bike electronically restricted if it is would someone kindly tell me how to unrestrict it please

Doesn't sound like a mechanical problem to me mate, just sounds like your engine is running out of ooomph. TBH and I don't mean to sound funny, I would buy a faster bike.

How much did you up the jetting by? It could be running too rich now.

And don't expect too much performance increase if any at all from a k&n filter on a 4 stroke 125.

Agree with dainesefreak. It looks like your engine is in the power band in 4th gear, but drops out of it when you change up and can't rev back into it.
To get round it you could get a rear sprocket with a couple of teeth less. try 3 or 4 less. But a 4-stroke 125 rarely does more than 70mph anyway

A mate had/has a Maureder 125, used to go on ride out's with him quite often.

No offence to you mate, but they are pig slow bikes and a turbo + NOS wouldn't get one of them to go fast Laughing

His topped out at about 60mph anyway and the gears were crap, god help him if he hit a hill at 60 as the bike just slowed down forcing him to change down the gears and just go slower.

A maureder 125 is NEVER going to go fast so don't bother with jetting it or anything, just have to live with the fact it's a learner cruiser that isn't made to go fast, if you want to go faster your best bet is to buy a bigger bike!

Yes, quite a bit faster actually, when we used to ride with the Maureder there is a girl with a GS125 and she was soooooo much faster on that, even up the hills. So yes the GS is quite a bit faster than a maureder but not /that/ much!
