It's fun!
My first time in the snow on a 650 and the SLR has come into its own. Just have to be gentle on the low down torque, otherwise it eats snow for breakfast! ____________________ Previous: Aprilia Habana Retro 50cc (beauty), Yamaha SR125 (fell apart), Honda XR125 (nippy little commuter), Honda SLR650 (Geewhizz), Yamaha Diversion 900S (Smoooooth) written off courtesy of a stupid escaped horse.

I'm almost jealous. You guys are getting snow and I'm getting rain. Sucks. Although I'm not sure what Michelin Road 2's are like in the snow on a litre v-twin.
I walked to work last year when we had snow and it was quite nice. Although we didn't get a single customer heh. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Previous: Firestorm (written off) - XJ600 Divvy - NSR125 - DT125 and a load of offroaders. |

4 car pile up on the A30 this morning heading from Exeter in towards Honiton, saw a recovery truck heading the other way whilst I was in the jam with two Ford Escort vans on the back, smashed to shit. I think one of them might have been my friend from college as he hasn't turned up tdaoy and has a Ford Escort van. There was also a Merc and an MX5 involved. I know they're all cars, but still, slow down a bit today boys and girls ____________________ wizzzard wrote: Imagine God just stopping by, tidying your front room up and then quietly letting himself out again. Kawakid if you can handle the bike in the snow and make it OK I say it makes you a better rider. Keep it up and just take it easy. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. Previous: Firestorm (written off) - XJ600 Divvy - NSR125 - DT125 and a load of offroaders. |

This weather scares me slightly, on friday went into a roundabout at a mere 30mph, and lost front and rear, and was just hoping i could balance it out without planting myself into the roundabout kurb ____________________ Past: '05 Peugeot XPS '99 Aprillia RS125 '94 FZR600R

Well i nearly went on bike, but went out and saw that my driveway was a skating rink and the street road which never gets gritted....
A man was walking past and as he was explaining to me to be careful as the roads are bad, he fell on his arse.
Would have been really silly for me to even bother, i probably would have if there was snow lying but it was just plain ice all the way up the road for 1/5th of a mile the main roads where fine though.
Got the bus instead. ____________________ 4 months experience L plate CBR 125'er |

It's gonna snow here tomorrow apparently. I won't find out what the bike is like in the snow though as I have the van to drive to the NEC instead now heh. ____________________ Current bike: VTR1000F Firestorm. I ended up sliding down the road sideways last night, but somehow managed to keep the bike up .
This morning was scary, had to engine brake for most junctions because even slight pressure on the brakes was causing the wheels to skid out. ____________________ Current: Suzuki RG 125 Gamma, Honda H100, Triumph Tiger 800XC, Suzuki SV650 (minitwin) |

anyone with almost vertical forks e.g. a ped, have fun.
I have been up and down a local road of mine which is covered in snow and hail. i did over a 180 skid.
Obviously you have to be careful. On main roads with other traffic its not too much fun.
I cannot imagine riding a big bike in these conditions. Good luck! |

I couldn't even get the bike out of the yard without sliding all over the place this morning. Roads aren't too bad 'round these parts having been gritted, but the ice in our yard/driveway is horrendous, I was never gonna get it out of there.
Went to college on the bus, I've had enough trouble just walking about today. ____________________ My deviantArt gallery - My Youtube profile

Good old Italian engineering came my rescue, the Fut gives an ice warning on the dash when it thinks the roads could be icy, great!
...
Except it flattens the battery in the process
Seems I've landed myself with a fair weather bike ____________________ 2010 Triumph 1050 Sprint ST |

I've never had so much fun on a bike at winter as I do now.
The pit bike is amazing in the snow.
I've put 32" wide 7" high renthal Mini bike bars on it. So filtering is a bit difficult now.
So on the way up Ash tree lane this morning. i couldnt filter because its a country road and hard enough on a bike with small bars.
I decided to "undertake" using the big field to the left of me. |
